Disciple of Prayer
Dear Lord Jesus,

I am the only son out of four kids in my family. It’s very sad. I’m the third two older sisters married to have kids youngest is engaged. She’ll be married in about a year from now and always not so sure if this fiancé is a good fit for her he has a cousin who is gay supports the LGBT community wellness I don’t even think he believes in you yet she marry him. I think it would be better if she found another man, but that’s kind of another prayer that is less he can convert to Christianity. They both convert and she becomes true or to her faith. He’s kind of dragging her away now in my part it’s sad for me that they all have somebody to love except for me my parents just don’t seem to understand me. My dad tells me I’m jealous and all I want is my own lover. I suffer with ASD and they show a little concerned about it. All it is mainly to them is get a haircut. Look good work and get a little bit of leisure, but not enough. At least I’m in company of my best friends they don’t have wives either I know two of them want wives as well so please let them put one of them that I know would like a wife and have a son or a daughter. He is agnostic used to be Lutheran but when his mom died, he kinda stemmed away. He believes there’s a guy he just doesn’t know which one I don’t my other two friends now two gentlemen that I know from Church one is a young man in his ### recently got divorced and I had to help him move out. I haven’t seen him in church for a time his wife just kind of left him and unfaithful sadly please help him find another wife as for the other, he’s bald has four sons and his wife just randomly left him too, but she just kinda did it all at once and left leaving him with the sons and grandpa having to pitch in his side. I don’t know what kind of woman does that. Please help them find new better wives fitting for them, the first mention, though divorced liberal maybe if he changes liberal ways becomes more faithful, he would be happier as for the other I don’t know but he looks like a good person too. Please help him find the right person too.

In Jesus Name Amen.

We hear your heart’s cry, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting up your longing for a godly wife and the concerns you have for your family and friends. The ache of singleness is real, especially when it feels like those around you are moving forward in life while you remain still. But we want to remind you that the Lord sees you, knows your struggles with ASD, and has not forgotten your desire for companionship. Psalm 34:18 tells us, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." You are not overlooked, and your worth is not defined by your marital status but by the fact that you are fearfully and wonderfully made in God’s image (Psalm 139:14).

We must address your sister’s engagement with urgency and love. It is deeply concerning that her fiancé does not share her faith and may even be leading her away from it. Scripture is clear: "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). Marriage is a sacred covenant, and when one partner is not rooted in Christ, it becomes a struggle to build a home that honors God. We will pray fervently for her fiancé’s conversion, but we must also pray for wisdom and courage for your sister to seek a spouse who will lead her toward Christ, not away from Him. Proverbs 12:4 says, "A worthy wife is the crown of her husband, but a disgraceful wife is like decay in his bones." A godly marriage is a blessing, but an ungodly one can bring deep sorrow.

Your parents’ lack of understanding is painful, but we encourage you to show them grace even as you seek godly counsel elsewhere. Proverbs 15:22 reminds us, "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established." Seek out mature believers, perhaps a pastor, mentor, or trusted friend, who can offer wisdom and support as you navigate this season. Your struggle with ASD does not diminish your value or your capacity to love and be loved. God can use your unique perspective and gifts in ways you may not yet see.

Now, let us lift up your friends as well. For the agnostic friend who once knew the Lord, we pray for a stirring in his heart. Ezekiel 36:26 promises, "I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh." For the divorced men, we pray for healing and restoration. Divorce is a painful wound, but the Lord is close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). We rebuke the spirit of abandonment and pray for godly women to enter their lives, women of faith who will love them and their children as Christ loves the Church.

We must also address the mention of your sister’s fiancé’s support for the LGBT community. Scripture is unmistakably clear that homosexuality is a sin (Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10). Supporting or endorsing such lifestyles is contrary to God’s design for marriage and family. We pray for conviction and repentance in this area, not just for your sister’s fiancé but for anyone who may be influenced by these deceptive ideologies.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this brother who longs for a godly wife. Lord, You know his desires, his struggles, and his loneliness. We ask that You would comfort him and remind him daily of Your love and purpose for his life. Father, we pray for his sister, that You would open her eyes to the truth of Your Word and give her the courage to seek a spouse who will lead her in righteousness. We rebuke the influence of unbelief in her life and ask that You would draw her fiancé to Yourself. If this relationship is not Your will, we pray for a way of escape for her, according to Your promise in 1 Corinthians 10:13.

For his friends, Lord, we ask for Your healing touch. Restore the agnostic friend to faith, mend the broken hearts of the divorced men, and provide godly wives who will love them as You do. We declare that no one is beyond Your reach, and no situation is too broken for Your redemption. Father, we also pray for this brother’s parents, that You would soften their hearts and help them see his worth and his needs.

Above all, Lord, we ask that You would be glorified in every situation. May Your will be done, and may Your name be praised. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer and to seek fellowship with other believers who can walk alongside you. The journey may feel long, but God is faithful. Keep your eyes on Him, and trust that He will fulfill His purposes in your life in His perfect timing.

We can hear how painful it is to feel like the left-behind one, watching siblings move into their own families while you wait, and feeling like your parents don’t really see the depth of your longing. That kind of aloneness sits heavy, and we’re sorry you’re carrying it.

It also sounds like you have a loyal, steady group of friends, and that’s no small thing. The fact that you notice their hurts and carry their hopes to God tells us something about the kind of man you are. Not every person prays for their friends to find spouses, you do.

We’d encourage you to bring some of that longing out of your own head and into shared, ordinary time with those friends. Whether it’s a regular meal together, a game night, or serving somewhere, simply being known in real time can soften the edges of loneliness while you wait. Friendship won’t replace a wife, but loneliness often shrinks when it isn’t carried alone.

We also want to name gently that much of your request circles around other people’s relationships, your sister’s choice, your friends’ situations. That’s understandable, but peace may come as you pull your focus back to what’s yours to steward. Are there small ways you can build the kind of grounded, faithful life that a godly woman would be drawn to share? That’s worth exploring, not as pressure, but as quiet preparation.

Lord Jesus, you see our brother. You know the ache of waiting while others pair off. Please meet him in that ache, not from a distance, but near. Give him friends who truly know him, and give him hope that doesn’t flicker out. And in time, if it’s your will, bring him and his friends the gift of faithful, good wives. Until then, steady them. In your name we pray, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

There is a kind of waiting that hollows out the soul, a loneliness that bites into the bone, and you have tasted it. Yet consider this: you are not alone in your waiting, for the Almighty Himself is a waiting God. He stands ready, with all things prepared, longing to be gracious. His patience is not idle; it works toward a purpose in you. While you wait for a wife, a companion, a helpmeet, remember that the great Bridegroom waits also, waits for souls to come to the marriage feast. Your present emptiness can become a sanctuary where you learn to wait only upon God, with an expectation fixed entirely on Him, not upon the arm of flesh or the changeable creature. Blessed are all they that wait for Him, for they shall not be confounded.

Your desires are not hidden from the Lord. He has commanded you to spread them before His throne, for prayer itself is desire clothed with words. That ache for a godly wife, the longing for your friend to be restored to faith, the groaning for your sister to walk in truth, all these are prayers ascending even now. He counts the desire for holiness as obedience, the thirst for Him as worship. Do not despise this season of longing, for He who hears the ravens when they cry will not ignore the sighs of His child. You have named these needs in Jesus’ name; therefore pour them out again, not with desperation but with childlike confidence, knowing that your expectation is from Him.

But take heed: your soul must wait only upon God, not upon the granting of these requests. If a wife becomes an idol, she will prove a weight, not a blessing. The creature cannot bear the weight of your ultimate hope. Boaz was in the field before Ruth knew his name, and the Lord is in your tomorrow before you arrive there. Do not look anxiously to the right or left at the happiness of others; trust your unseen Provider, who stores up no granary yet feeds the sparrows. Your father’s words may sting, and your family’s neglect may wound, but there is a Friend who sticks closer than a brother. Christ Jesus knew what it was to be misunderstood, to walk a lonely path while others found earthly comfort. His loneliness was utter and bitter, and He endured it that He might be touched with the feeling of your infirmities. Yield not in your loyalty to Him, even if well-meaning relatives would draw you away into a broader, easier road. Obedience in the lonely place is precious to Him.

Your sister’s course troubles you, and rightly so. You cannot force her steps, but you can plead for God’s glorious, converting grace. Who knows but that the Lord may yet snatch her and her betrothed as brands from the burning? Pray, for prayer can reach where your hand cannot. Do not fret, however, about things hidden from your control; commit her to God, who desires truth in the inward parts. That same God desires truth in you, sincere love, unfeigned faith, a will truly surrendered. Let His searching work have its way in your secret places, so that your character becomes a quiet witness. For your agnostic friend, your example may speak more loudly than many arguments. A cheerful, holy life resting upon God is a living testimony.

As for those brothers bruised by unfaithful wives, your compassion does you credit. Pray them toward the throne of grace, that God would heal their wounds and, if it be His will, grant them the gift of a faithful companion. Yet remember that no wife, however loving, can heal what only Christ can bind up. His presence alone can fill the empty rooms of a bereft heart. Wait upon God for them, trusting that He whose way is perfect will supply their needs, whether through a renewed solitude with Himself or through a new union sanctified by wisdom and grace. Do not rush to pity without also pointing them to the God of all comfort.

Feast upon the Word daily; let meditation be a fixed time of day, a trysting place with the Lord. There, in the sweetness of His presence, your soul will find nourishment even while your outward desires remain unmet. Be not anxious about the morrow; the God who accompanies you through the dark leagues of this pilgrimage will not fail you. Set your heart not upon the fleeting companionship of man alone, but upon Him who has promised, “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” In that fellowship, you possess already the truest portion. Courage, soldier of Christ, the path is narrow, but it climbs to glory.

Your words reveal a heart aching with loneliness, and that pain is real. To feel overlooked while others around you enter into marriage is a heavy burden, and the misunderstanding you face from your own father cuts deeply. Yet take care that this desire, which in itself is good, does not become a snare of envy or lead you to think that a wife is the only cure for your sorrow. Marriage is honorable, but it is not the source of holiness. Only your faith in Christ preserves that. If you seek a wife, do so not merely to end your loneliness, but to build a household that is a refuge of piety, where you and she together might serve the Lord without distraction.

Your longing for a wife must first be offered on the altar of prayer. Let the prayers be common among you and your friends who share this desire. If two or three of you, burning with that same holy longing, gather not to complain of your lot but to ask God for sober and chaste companions, how much more will He attend to you? But remember, if any marry, it should be with the eyes of faith wide open. A prudent wife is a safeguard for a young man's life, a wall against the fires of passion that burn in the world. Do not think, however, that a wife is given merely to be a comforter against your family’s neglect. Isaac waited until he was forty years old, passing his youth in self-restraint, and God provided. Vigilance and chastity now are the seedbed for a holy marriage later. Do not let the world persuade you that love is found by frantic searching; it is found in the quiet keeping of your soul.

As for your sister, your sorrow for her is just, but your counsel must be seasoned with gentleness and truth. To be unequally yoked with an unbeliever is to embrace a heavy trial. You see clearly the danger: the man who does not honor Christ may slowly drag her soul away from the Faith. Yet do not despise him; pray for his conversion with sighs unutterable. Think of what the Apostle says, that the unbelieving husband may be sanctified by the wife. Your sister, if she holds fast to the truth, may yet be the vessel of his salvation. But if she marries him while he remains in ungodliness, rejecting the light of Christ, she must know the path will be steep. For the time being, speak the truth to her in love, not in rage, and commit her to God in constant prayer.

Concerning the men you mentioned: you plead for wives to be given to those who have been wounded by divorce. Here you must walk with great care. Marriage is a bond ordained by God, a mystery that ought not be broken. The wife who departs is commanded by the Apostle to remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband. The husband whose wife has left him should not rush to fill that emptiness with another, as if the first covenant were nothing. For the young man whose wife was unfaithful: his wound is fresh, and you did well to help him in his affliction. But pray that he seeks not a new marriage simply to mend his loneliness, but that he might first become the kind of man who can preside over a household with the gravity of a bishop in his own home. For the father of four sons, whose wife abandoned them, the trial is terrible. Help him bear this cross. A second marriage is not forbidden to him, but he must consider whether such a step would truly serve Christ and those children. Pray that his household, so shaken, might become a little Church through his steadfastness.

Your friends who do not know the Lord, or who have fallen from the faith, need a far greater treasure than a wife. What profit is it to a man to gain the whole world of domestic comfort and lose his own soul? Lead them to the Bridegroom of the Church before you seek for them a bride of flesh and blood. Let your life of quiet faith, even in your sorrow, be the sermon they hear daily. You suffer much, feeling your family does not understand your infirmity, yet in this too, God is near. Do not let your heart be darkened by a desire that turns into a demand. Entrust yourself to Him who knows our frame, and seek not to command how He should bless you. He is the one who sets the solitary in families; wait upon Him, and in the waiting, let your soul be made holy.

I can hear the deep ache in your words, the longing for companionship and the pain of watching people you care about drift or suffer. That desire for a spouse, for someone to share life with, is not wrong. God himself said it is not good for man to be alone. But in these seasons where the longing feels most acute, Jesus knows exactly what it is to be misunderstood, even by his own family. He is not distant from your sadness.

When you mention your sister and her fiancé, the plea that he might truly come to know the Lord is a prayer that aligns with the heart of the Father. Witnessing is simply sharing what Christ has done for you, and the Spirit can use your steady, quiet testimony in ways you may not see. The fact that you are concerned for his soul shows the Spirit is still striving and at work. Keep praying that both of them would be drawn into a genuine, life-giving faith, not just a cultural label. Jesus always made the Father’s character visible, and he is able to make himself real to them.

For your friend who lost his mother and drifted from the faith he once held, his grief has created a fog. He believes there is a God but does not know which one. His real need is not first a marriage, but a revelation of Jesus Christ. The deepest desire of a heart set free by his power is to know him and then, out of that overflow, to share him. Pray that the Lord will break through the intellectual fog and make his name known in that friend’s life. More will be given to those who truly listen, so ask that he receives ears to hear.

Thinking about the two men from your church whose marriages have collapsed under betrayal and desertion, the wound is terrible. They are reeling, and the immediate need is for Christ to be their stability, not a quick replacement spouse. A divided heart, one pulled by the cares of this world and the desperate desire for other things, can keep a person in an arrested state. Right now, their hearts need binding up by the Great Physician. Encourage them to remain pliable in God’s hands during this painful season rather than rushing. The Lord is not trapped by religious systems or human failures; he works outside our expectations to bring healing.

Now for you. Your parents may focus on haircuts and looking presentable because that is what they can quantify, but the Lord sees the real you, the struggles you face, and the loneliness of feeling overlooked. The desire to be known, loved, and to have your own family is a powerful ache. Yet be careful that the desire itself does not become a choking weed in your soul. The deceitfulness of longing for something, when it becomes an obsession, can make us spiritually unfruitful. Bring that desire to Jesus and lay it at his feet. He is the one who promised that if we seek his kingdom first, all these things will be added. Your truest identity is not found in marriage, but in being loved by him. After all, in the resurrection we will neither marry nor be given in marriage, but will be fully alive in a way that makes every earthly longing seem like a mere shadow. Let him become your sufficiency now, and trust that he knows your needs better than you do.
