Dear Lord Jesus,

Please help my best friend find a wife that is right for him. He’s been socializing and flirting with a girl who let him out thinking that she liked him back. This girl was not morally correct anyway. So I recommended to him to go to his church do fun activities with them and he might find somebody fitting for him. He goes for girls that are much younger than him over a decade younger like ### years younger And more recent times but I think maybe somebody ### or ### ### years younger than him would probably do. And I think he would agree. But I tell him that he could go to church because I know somebody was a former foreman. He attended Lutheran Church and met his wife. They were really young though, but they’re happily married now. Please my best friend end up with someone as Christian because if he ends up with somebody Christian, it increases his chances of being a better Christian. He already gets an argument with his brother-in-law approved that there is a God he is agnostic, but inside questioning it from his mom, but since his mom died, they didn’t go to church very frequently and sadly, and it kind of affected me. Doesn’t know if it’s God Whoever sadly that’s affected him and he even thinks that LGBT is not so bad but it is please bring it back to true Christianity. A true woman was truly Christian to live happily for the rest of his life because when a Christian Christian sometimes go either way, but lots of times it ends up in the bad direction, turning their faith into something bad Before Christian they should help convert. I thank you. I think a really Christian girl and other people to help him comfort his faith and see the truth once and for all.

In Nesus Name Amen.

We hear your deep concern for your best friend and lift him before the Lord with you. It’s clear you love him and want what’s best for him, God’s best. We join you in praying for his heart to be drawn fully to Christ, for his faith to be strengthened, and for him to find a godly wife who will walk with him in truth.

First, we must address the areas where his thinking has strayed from Scripture. Your friend’s acceptance of LGBT ideology is not aligned with God’s Word. The Bible is clear: "Don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom" (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). This is not a matter of opinion but of God’s holy standard. We must lovingly but firmly stand on truth, for his soul is at stake. His agnosticism and doubt are not harmless, they are dangerous ground. "The fool has said in his heart, 'There is no God'" (Psalm 14:1). But we serve a God who reveals Himself to those who seek Him with a sincere heart (Jeremiah 29:13).

We also must address the issue of age disparity in relationships. While Scripture does not explicitly forbid large age gaps, it does warn against being "unequally yoked" (2 Corinthians 6:14). A significant age difference can create challenges in spiritual maturity, life experience, and shared values, especially if the younger person is not firmly rooted in Christ. Your friend’s pattern of pursuing women much younger than himself may reflect deeper issues, such as a desire for control, immaturity, or even a reluctance to commit to someone his own age. We must encourage him to seek a woman who is not only a believer but also spiritually mature, regardless of age. "Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who fears Yahweh, she shall be praised" (Proverbs 31:30).

Your suggestion that he become more involved in his church is wise. The body of Christ is where godly relationships are nurtured. "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). A wife who shares his faith will be a helper, an encourager, and a partner in his walk with God. But we must also caution against the idea that marriage will "fix" his faith or solve his doubts. Only Christ can do that. Marriage to a believer is a blessing, but it is not a substitute for a personal, vibrant relationship with Jesus.

We also notice that your prayer did not explicitly mention the name of Jesus until the end. While we know you meant it in sincerity, we must emphasize that there is no other name by which we can approach God or be saved. "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" (Acts 4:12). Your friend’s salvation, and his future marriage, must be rooted in Christ alone. If he is not firmly grounded in the Gospel, he will be vulnerable to deception, whether from false teachings or from relationships that lead him astray.

Let us pray for him now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for our brother. Lord, You know his struggles, his doubts, and his longing for companionship. We ask that You would draw him to Yourself with cords of love that cannot be broken. Soften his heart to receive Your truth, and open his eyes to the deception he has embraced. Father, we rebuke the lies of agnosticism and the acceptance of sin in his life. We declare that he is Your child, created for Your glory, and we ask that You would reveal Yourself to him in powerful ways, through Your Word, through godly believers, and through the conviction of Your Holy Spirit.

Lord, we pray for his future marriage. If it is Your will for him to be married, prepare a godly woman who loves You above all else. Let her be a woman of wisdom, grace, and strength, one who will encourage him in his faith and walk with him in righteousness. Protect him from relationships that would lead him astray, whether through immaturity, worldly values, or ungodly influences. Help him to seek a wife who is a true partner in Christ, not just a companion for this world.

Father, we also pray for his family. The loss of his mother has left a void, and we ask that You would comfort him with Your presence. Surround him with believers who will speak truth into his life, challenge his doubts, and model what it means to follow You wholeheartedly. Let him see the beauty of Your design for marriage, family, and faith, and give him the courage to walk in it.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the Name above all names, the only Name by which we are saved. Strengthen his faith, Lord, and let him know that You are real, You are near, and You are faithful. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

To you, his friend, we say this: Keep praying for him. Keep speaking truth in love, even when it’s hard. Your faithfulness to stand for God’s Word in his life is a powerful testimony. But also remember that you cannot change his heart, only the Holy Spirit can. Trust God to work, and keep pointing your friend to Jesus. "Faithful is the word: if any man aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a good work" (1 Timothy 3:1). Whether he is called to marriage or to a life of singleness, his ultimate calling is to know Christ and make Him known. Pray that he would embrace that calling above all else.

Thank you for sharing your heart for your best friend. The love and concern in your words is unmistakable, and we’re honored to join you in lifting him up. It’s clear you want something genuinely good for him, the kind of good that lasts far beyond a happy romance.

While a godly spouse can be a tremendous encouragement, we’ve found that real, lasting faith usually takes root when a person encounters Jesus personally, not just through another person. So as you keep praying, we’d encourage you to be that steady, patient presence in your friend’s life. Invite him not only to church events but to grab a meal after the service, to join a small group where he can ask hard questions without pressure, and simply to see how your own faith works in the everyday. Sometimes the most powerful witness is a friend who sticks close, keeps listening, and lets God do the drawing in His own timing.

It’s okay that the road is slow. Your friend’s doubts and confusion don’t surprise God, and they don’t disqualify him from being loved right now. You’ve planted good seeds by pointing him toward church and Christian community. Now trust the Lord to water them. Avoid pushing him toward a relationship as the solution; instead, keep praying for his spiritual eyes to open and his affections to be reordered toward Christ first. When that happens, any future relationship will rest on a much surer foundation.

Father, thank you for this friend and his deep care. We ask you to gently draw his buddy into authentic faith, clear away the fog of confusion and grief, and let him see your goodness for himself. Surround him with people who will love him into the truth and not just argue with him. Give this praying friend patience, the right words at the right time, and a heart that stays hopeful. We trust your timing and your ways. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Your concern for your friend’s soul and his earthly companionship does your own heart credit, yet I must direct you first to the root of all spiritual blessing, faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The just shall live by faith, and no Christian remains a Christian except by still believing. Hast thou faith as to thy children and thy house? Hast thou faith in the God of providence? Faith in the God who answers prayer? Till a man has come to rest entirely upon the finished work of Christ for his eternal salvation, no outward helpmeet can supply what his own spirit lacks. The way of salvation is, “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” Faith is both the road to the highest happiness and the way to the first safety; it is not the measure of our faith, but the sincerity of it which is the great question. A trembling faith will save, yet that faith must be in a Person, He that believeth on Him shall not be ashamed.

I perceive in your friend a soul entangled with the world. He argues for a God yet lives as an agnostic, and thinks that which God calls abomination is no great evil. If you are not a Christian, you are a member of that great corporation called the world, and that world lieth in the wicked one. The crisis of this world came when Christ died; now every man must choose whether he will be drawn to the Redeemer or remain in the snare. A man who would find a wife according to the will of God must first be himself a follower of God. Marriage is a holy covenant, and a Christian woman is not given to be a missionary at the altar, but a fellow-heir of the grace of life. I say not that a godly wife may not be used of the Spirit to help restore a wavering heart, but the conversion must be the Lord’s own work. You do well to pray that a true Christian girl might be raised up, yet take heed: no outward companionship can substitute for the new birth. Let your friend hear the Word, faith cometh by hearing, and let him be found where Christ is preached, for simple faith is always the work of the Spirit, and the Holy Spirit applies the precious blood through that very faith.

As to the choice of a wife, flee the world’s pattern. He who goes after those many years younger must ask whether he seeks a helpmeet or merely a snare for his own eye. The heart is deceitful, and youth soon fadeth. Seek rather one who fears the Lord, a woman of like precious faith. True faith hangs upon God as the vessel upon the nail, and a household built on that foundation shall stand. I have seen little faith prove genuine, and the Lord would not quench the smoking flax. If your friend hath but a grain of mustard seed sincerity, let him look to Christ alone, and the Spirit will cause his faith to grow. In Christian work we must exert ourselves, yet prayer is the engine. Continue to beseech the throne of grace on his behalf. Be not weary, for the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Remember also that the believer’s walk is by faith, not by sight. You did well to direct him to the assembly of the saints; there is no better place to find a bride than among the daughters of Zion. Let him go not with a carnal eye but with a heart seeking first the kingdom. The Lord knoweth them that are His, and He will guide the footsteps of those who trust in Him. Let your friend lay hold upon the promise, and then, in the common round of service and worship, watch for the provision of the covenant-keeping God. I shall join my prayer with yours that the Spirit would draw him effectually, grant him repentance, and establish him in the truth once for all, so that whether in marriage or in single life, he may glorify the Lord. Walk in Christ Jesus, and all other things shall be added in due season.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer for your friend wells up from a sincere love, yet you must not mistake the true remedy for his soul. You tell me he flirts with a girl not morally correct, chases after women a decade and more his junior, and in his heart questions whether God even is, while thinking the abominable confusion of the age called LGBT is of little consequence. This is not a man ready for a Christian wife. This is a man whose foundation is sand, and to build marriage upon it is to invite ruin. Marriage is a bond ordained of God, pure and honorable, but it is not a medicine that automatically cures unbelief. A wife, however pious, is given to a man to preserve the holiness that comes from faith, to guard the body from defilement, not to create faith where none exists. If your friend does not first flee the harlot’s corruption in his heart and conduct, he will only soil that which is sacred.

I tell you plainly: the profit of marriage is to keep the body pure, but if a young man has already filled himself with countless stains before the wedding, the marriage is deprived of its very purpose. He must learn self-mastery. Let him consider Isaac, who remained a virgin until forty, waiting upon God. Your friend, under grace, ought to practice such restraint, not gape after women young enough to be his daughters merely to satisfy lust disguised as companionship. Let him first become a man of faith, a saint by belief, for even the secular man who holds the true faith is a brother in the Lord. If he thinks lightly of sin, calling evil good, he resists the Christ who died for those very sins. Return him to the Scriptures, to the church, not as a hunting ground for a spouse, but as a hospital for his soul. Let him go there to weep over his mother’s death and his own drifting, to find the God who is not silent, to be catechized and anchored in the truth once for all. Only when he himself becomes an example of the believers in word, in purity, in charity, might he seek a wife who is truly the Lord’s, a prudent, chaste woman near to his own maturity, who will reverence her husband and together they may pursue holiness. Until then, pray without ceasing, but also speak the hard word: the soul must be wed to Christ before the body is wed to any woman. Then his marriage will not be a gamble, but a sweet ointment kept from every foul scent.

Your care for your friend comes through so clearly, and it is right to bring this burden to the Lord. Prayer is the most powerful thing you can offer him right now.

What strikes me is that you are hoping a truly Christian wife will help anchor his faith and bring him back to truth. That desire touches on something deep, but the order matters greatly. If someone does not have his own living relationship with Jesus Christ, everything else is built on shifting sand. You mentioned he believes there is a God, yet he is agnostic and questioning. Mere belief in God is not saving faith; even the demons believe and tremble. Salvation requires a personal, surrendered trust in Jesus Christ as Lord. Your friend needs that foundation first, before marriage can be what God designed it to be.

You also recognized that some of the paths he has been drawn to so far, such as the girl who was not morally correct, were not good or safe. That you can see the danger is a sign of wisdom. Biblical marriage is a covenant where a man and a woman become one flesh, intended by God from the beginning. It is intended to be a source of mutual holiness and stability, not a mission field where one hopes the other will eventually convert. A believer marrying someone who does not truly share that faith often leads exactly where you fear: the believer's own walk can be pulled off course rather than the other way around.

The example of the man who met his wife through church life is a natural and good pattern. Fellowship around Christ, serving together, and being among people who genuinely follow Him are the right places for such relationships to grow. But underneath that, the real need is for your friend to encounter Jesus himself. I think of the leper who came to Jesus and said, "If you are willing, you can make me clean." The man had no doubt about Jesus’ power; his only question was about the Lord’s will. We all have to bring our deepest requests that way: trusting His power and humbly yielding to His will, not ours. So pray boldly that God would reveal Himself to your friend and draw him to true repentance and living faith. Then, whether he marries or remains single, he will be standing safely on the Rock.

Pray too that God would send faithful people, men and women, into his life who will speak the truth in love. You cannot argue someone into the Kingdom, but a life genuinely transformed by Christ is a powerful testimony. Your own steady friendship and prayer are already part of that. And when your friend begins to wrestle with Scripture himself, rather than simply coasting on a childhood tradition, the Lord will meet him there. Each person must develop their own foundation, their own faith, not borrowed from a parent or spouse. God has no grandchildren; we each must draw near and cling to Him for ourselves.

Keep interceding. Ask the Lord not only for a godly spouse if that is His will, but first and above all that your friend’s eyes would be opened to see Jesus as He truly is: the only one who forgives sins, calms the storm, and gives eternal life. When the presence of Christ becomes the greatest desire of his heart, everything else will begin to fall into its proper place.

We are so grateful you entrusted us with the privilege of standing in prayer for your best friend. It is a sacred joy to lift him before the Lord, asking for His perfect will in his life—especially as he seeks a wife who will walk faithfully with him in Christ.

We have been praying specifically that God would soften his heart to wisdom in choosing a godly partner, one whose faith is deep and whose love for the Lord is evident. We asked the Holy Spirit to guide him away from relationships that might lead him astray and toward a woman who will encourage his spiritual growth, not hinder it. We also prayed for clarity in his understanding of biblical truth, that his convictions would be strengthened and that any confusion about God’s design for marriage and morality would be replaced with the peace of His Word.

We continue to lift up his journey in faith, asking the Lord to surround him with strong Christian brothers and sisters who will model godly relationships and speak life into his walk with Christ. May the Holy Spirit work powerfully in his heart, drawing him closer to the Father and preparing him for the wife God has already set apart for him.

If the Lord has already begun to answer this prayer—perhaps by leading your friend to a new season of fellowship, a shift in his perspective, or even the first steps toward a godly relationship—we would love to hear a praise report! Your testimony could encourage others who are praying for similar breakthroughs.

If, however, the answer hasn’t yet become clear, we invite you to post this request again so we can continue standing with you in prayer. Sometimes the Lord moves in ways we don’t immediately see, and we want to persist in seeking Him on your friend’s behalf.

May God richly bless both of you as you seek His face and trust in His timing. We pray that your friend’s story would be one of redemption, renewal, and a love that reflects the beauty of Christ’s relationship with His Church. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
