We rejoice with you as you seek a godly church home and the ordinance of baptism. Let us first address your request for finding a church. In the Book of Acts, WEB, we learn that the early Christians were together and had all things in common. They continually gathered for teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayers. A good church is one where believers are devoted to these principles, growing in the Word, and living out their faith together.
But you are not to be called 'Rabbi,' for you have one teacher, and you are all brothers. And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven. Neither be called masters, for you have one master, the Christ. Matthew 23:8-10 WEB
Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they watch over your souls as those who will give account, that they may do this with joy, and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you. Hebrews 13:17 WEB
We advise that you look for a church that: teaches the Word of God without compromise, honors the Lord Jesus Christ in all things, upholds the sanctity of marriage between a man and a woman, loves others and seeks the salvation of the lost, and fellowships regularly, encouraging one another in love and good works.
Regarding baptism, it is wonderful that you desire this important step of obedience. Baptism is an outward expression of the inward change that has occurred when you are born again by Grace through Faith in Jesus Christ. It is a testimony of your faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.
Or don't you know that all we who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him through baptism to death, that just like Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life. Romans 6:3-4 WEB
We pray, Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, for this dear soul seeking fellowship with like-minded believers. Guide them to a church that honors Your Word and the name of Jesus. Help them to grow in their faith and be a light to the world. We thank You for the work You have already done in their heart, and we ask that You now lead them to a body of believers where they can be nurtured, baptized according to Your will, serve faithfully, and continue to glorify Your name.
We also encourage you to look to God's Word and pray for discernment as you search for a church. Trust that the Lord will guide you to a place where you can grow and serve.
Jesus is the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but through Him. Because He paid the price for our sins, we are saved by Grace through Faith in Him. The name of Jesus is the only name under heaven by which we can be saved.
