We join you in bringing this financial struggle before the Lord and we thank you for asking in the name of Jesus, for it is through Him alone we have access to the Father and it is in His name we are saved and heard. As it is written, There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5 and In no other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12.

We hear the weariness in your words after working year on year and feeling you have nothing to show for it, and we understand how discouraging that can be. We want to encourage you that God sees your labor and He cares about your needs. He reminds us, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19 and But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well Matthew 6:33. Our provision is not ultimately from our own striving but from His hand, for you shall remember Yahweh your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth Deuteronomy 8:18.

We also want to gently encourage you with biblical wisdom about stewardship and contentment. The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit and everyone who is hasty surely rushes to poverty Proverbs 21:5. God honors diligent work, faithful budgeting, living within our means, avoiding needless debt, and being faithful in little things. At the same time we are called to guard our hearts from the love of money, for the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil 1 Timothy 6:10, and to learn that godliness with contentment is great gain 1 Timothy 6:6. We have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread Psalm 37:25, and that promise gives us hope that He will not abandon you in this season.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus and we lift up our brother before Your throne of grace. You know his labor, his faithfulness in working year after year, and the discouragement of feeling empty handed. We ask You to have mercy and to open the windows of provision over his life. Grant him wisdom to steward what You have placed in his hands, to make wise decisions, to find honest increase and opportunity, and to be content while trusting You for more. Provide for his needs according to Your riches in glory, meet his daily bread, and allow him to enjoy the fruit of his labor as a gift from You. Lead him to better opportunities, to favor with employers, to discipline in spending and saving, and to generosity as You bless him. Guard his heart from discouragement and envy, and fill him with peace as he seeks first Your Kingdom. We ask that this trial would draw him closer to You and that his testimony would bring glory to Jesus. We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to work heartily as for the Lord, to seek godly counsel for budgeting and stewardship, to be faithful in giving and in little things, and to keep bringing your needs to God in prayer with thanksgiving. He is faithful and He hears you.

Your request has been heard and I take it to the throne of grace with you, that the Lord who sees your labour year upon year would have mercy and provide.

It is a heavy trial to work and toil and yet to have nothing to show for it, to feel that the hands are empty though they have not been idle. Know that the Lord does not despise honest labour. The Scripture teaches us that the work of Christ for us and the work of the Holy Spirit in us does not exempt us from work and service, but rather excites it. Wherever the Spirit works He makes men work, and Paul could say, whereunto I also labour, striving. There is a dignity in personal, diligent labour done as unto the Lord.

Our Lord said, I must work the works of Him that sent Me while it is day, for the night comes when no man can work. God can afford to wait with His work, but we cannot afford to delay with ours. Therefore let us be faithful in the station where He has placed us, doing foundation work though no eye may see it, for the Lord takes note of conscientious labour. He will try every man's work, and He delights to establish that work over which we have not trifled but into which we have thrown our whole strength with truthful maxims to guide us.

So I pray with you and for you, ###, that the Lord would establish the work of your hands. May He grant you wisdom to steward what He provides, strength to labour with diligence and integrity, and contentment to trust His fatherly care. May He open doors for honest provision, guard you from discouragement, and teach you to look first to His work and to the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ upon which our souls must rest. For if we have Christ we have all things needful, and He who has begun a good work in you will carry it on.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, look upon Thy servant who has laboured long and feels the burden of want. Thou knowest his toil and his need. Establish Thou the work of his hands, and cause his labour to be fruitful for Thy glory and for his good. Provide for his daily bread according to Thy riches, give him wisdom in all his dealings, keep him from sloth and from anxiety, and let him know that Thou art his portion. Teach him to cast himself with all his weight upon the finished work of Christ, and to find there both salvation and peace. Grant this, we pray, for Jesus sake. Amen.

Your request has been heard and we have prayed for you, ###, in the name of Jesus. We understand the weariness that comes from working year after year and feeling as though you have nothing to show for it, and we bring that burden before the Lord with you.

Scripture teaches us that neither riches nor poverty in themselves determine our worth or our future. What matters is the heart before God. Poverty is not to be feared as if it were a curse, and wealth is not to be chased as if it were salvation. Our Lord Himself, though He was rich, became poor for our sake, taking on our humanity and suffering, so that through His poverty we might become truly rich toward God. That richness is first of all forgiveness, peace with God, and hope that does not fade, even while earthly needs remain real.

We also hear in your words an honest desire to provide through labor, and God honors honest work. Poverty rightly calls us not to idleness or to wrongdoing, but to diligent and faithful labor, trusting God to provide what is needed for health and for life, while turning away from excess and from desires that only kindle more want. The apostle reminds us to make provision for real needs, and to set our greatest care on spiritual things, learning contentment and self control, which become a fountain of blessing even in hard times.

So we pray for you now. Father in heaven, we lift up ### to You through Jesus Christ Your Son. You know his work, his needs, and his discouragement. Provide for his daily needs according to Your wisdom and mercy. Give him strength to continue in honest labor, wisdom to steward what You provide, and contentment that rests in Christ rather than in possessions. Guard his heart from despair and from the love of wealth, and show him the true riches that are already his in Christ. Open doors for provision as You see best, and help him to trust You day by day. We ask this in the name of Jesus, who became poor so that we might live. Amen.
