Disciple of Prayer
I was late for my rent last September. I got a bill today saying I am in default for late fees of almost ###. They have been charging me ### a day in late fees since September. I’m a single mom with two kids working two full-time jobs to barely survive. I don’t know how I’m going to come up with ### so I’m not evicted.

We hear your cry for help, dear sister, and we lift you up before the throne of grace with heavy hearts. The weight of financial strain, especially as a single mother providing for your children, is not lost on us. The Lord sees your labor, your sacrifice, and your love for your little ones. We stand with you in this trial, declaring that our God is Jehovah-Jireh, the Lord who provides, and He has not forgotten you.

First, we must address the urgency of this situation with wisdom. The late fees accumulating are a burden, but we encourage you to seek clarity and mercy from your landlord. Proverbs 3:27-28 says, *"Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it. Do not say to your neighbor, 'Go, and come again; tomorrow I will give it,' when you have it with you."* If you have not already, reach out to your landlord or property management with humility and honesty. Explain your situation and ask if there is any possibility of reducing the fees or setting up a payment plan. Many landlords would prefer to work with a tenant who is communicative and willing to resolve the debt rather than pursue eviction.

We also encourage you to seek assistance from local churches, Christian organizations, or community resources that may offer financial aid or counseling. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and there may be those in your area who are willing to help. Do not let pride keep you from reaching out—this is not a time for self-reliance but for trusting in the Lord’s provision through His people.

Now, let us come before the Lord in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of compassion for our sister in need. Lord, You see her struggle, her exhaustion, and her fear. You know the weight she carries as a mother trying to provide for her children. We ask, Father, that You would open doors of provision and mercy for her. Soften the heart of her landlord, Lord, and grant her favor in their eyes. Provide the resources she needs to cover this debt, whether through unexpected help, a payment plan, or a breakthrough in her work.

Father, we also pray for wisdom and strength for her. Help her to manage her time and energy as she works two jobs, and give her moments of rest and peace. Protect her children, Lord, and let them feel Your love and security even in this difficult time. Remind her that You are her Provider, her Strength, and her Refuge.

We rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that seeks to overwhelm her, Lord. Your Word says in Philippians 4:19, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* We declare that promise over her life today. Let her trust in You grow deeper, and let her see Your hand at work in ways she never expected.

We also lift up her spiritual well-being, Lord. May this trial draw her closer to You, and may she find comfort in Your presence. Help her to cast all her anxieties on You, for You care for her (1 Peter 5:7). Strengthen her faith, Lord, and let her experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Sister, we want to remind you that you are not alone in this. The Lord is with you, and His people are here to support you. Keep pressing into Him, and do not lose heart. Psalm 34:17-18 says, *"The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* You are seen, you are loved, and you are not forgotten.

If there are any local churches or ministries in your area, we strongly encourage you to reach out to them. Many have benevolence funds or connections to resources that could help. Additionally, consider speaking with your employers about your situation—sometimes, unexpected opportunities or adjustments can arise when we are honest about our needs.

Lastly, we want to gently encourage you to seek God’s wisdom in managing your finances moving forward. Proverbs 21:5 says, *"The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit; and everyone who is hasty surely rushes to poverty."* If possible, look into budgeting resources or financial counseling through a church or Christian organization. The Lord can use this trial to teach you and equip you for greater stewardship in the future.

You are in our prayers, and we believe that God will make a way where there seems to be no way. Trust in Him, lean on Him, and let His strength sustain you.

Dear friend, we're here with you in spirit, holding your hands up to our Father in prayer. We know the weight of financial strain, especially when you're a single parent trying to make ends meet. It's overwhelming, but remember, you're not alone. God sees you, He knows your struggle, and He's right there with you.

We've been praying for you, asking God to soften the heart of your landlord, to open doors of provision, and to give you the strength and wisdom to navigate this trial. We claim Psalm 147:3 over your life, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Trust that God is healing your heart and binding up your wounds as you lean on Him.

We also want to encourage you to keep seeking help. If you haven't already, reach out to local churches or community resources. They might have financial aid or counseling services that could help. And remember, it's okay to ask for help. It's not a sign of weakness, but a testament to your strength and resilience.

Lastly, we want to remind you of God's promise in Philippians 4:19, "And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Trust in Him, lean on Him, and let His strength sustain you. You are in our prayers, and we believe that God will make a way where there seems to be no way. Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep moving forward, one step at a time. You've got this, with God by your side.

**Father,**

You see this mother—working two full-time jobs, raising two children alone, and now facing an impossible debt of nearly $### in late fees that threatens to evict her. **Please intervene.** Soften the heart of her landlord or a judge. Provide a way—through legal aid, a payment plan, charity, or a sudden provision—so she and her children are not thrown out.

**“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”** (Isaiah 41:10)

**“The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.”** (Psalm 9:9)

Lord, send help now. Stop these crushing daily fees. Let her find mercy and a miracle. **In Jesus’ name, Amen.**

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Praise the Lord, don't worry, the Bible says "the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich." God knows your suffering God will meet all your needs. God bless you abundantly.
