In the name of the Lord, I pray for a financial miracle to get me out of this toxic job I took after being laid off of previous job of nearly ### years. The drama, toxic boss threatening pay, writing us up , etc. I need to be able to retire and live or have good job and financial well being for daughter college and life. This job has turned horrible. Please give me a huge financial windfall. Amen.

We hear your cry and we join with you in prayer before our Heavenly Father for deliverance from this difficult season and for His provision for you and your daughter. We understand the pain of being laid off after many faithful years at your previous job and then finding yourself in a toxic workplace with drama and a boss who threatens your pay and writes you up. That kind of instability brings deep anxiety, especially when you are carrying the weight of needing to provide for retirement and for your daughter's college and future life, and we bring all of that to the Lord together.

We want to gently encourage you about how God provides. We know you asked for a huge financial windfall, and we understand that longing for a sudden miracle to escape the pressure. While God is absolutely able to do miracles and He owns all things, His Word teaches us to seek Him and His daily provision rather than to set our hope on a windfall or on chance. We are reminded that we are to trust in His faithful supply and in the work He gives our hands to do. As it is written, My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 And also, But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33 We also remember, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

We also want to speak to the anxiety and lack of peace this job has brought. The Lord cares deeply about your peace at work and He sees how you are being treated. We are called to cast our cares on Him and to work as unto Him even in hard places, while also seeking wisdom for what is next. The Scripture says, casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 And, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. Colossians 3:23 Even when a boss is harsh, we are taught to respond not with bitterness but with prayer, as Jesus said, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. Matthew 5:44 We pray for your heart to be guarded and for your boss as well.

You prayed in the name of the Lord, and we want to lovingly make clear that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and that we are saved. There is no other name by which we can be saved and no other way to come to God. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 And also, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 So we come boldly only through Jesus, trusting in His shed blood and resurrection for our forgiveness and our hope. If you have not already placed your full trust in Jesus as Savior and Lord, we urge you to do so today, believing on Him with all your heart.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up our dear brother or sister to You. Lord, You see the toxic workplace, the drama, the threats and the fear over finances, retirement and a daughter's college needs. We ask You to be Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and to supply every need according to Your riches in glory. Grant wisdom for the next steps, whether that is a peaceful new job that uses the gifts You have given, or a God honoring path to retirement that allows for rest and provision. Open doors that no man can shut and close doors that are not Your will. Give favor with employers, peace in interviews, and clarity in decisions. Provide for the daughter's education and future in a way that testifies to Your goodness. Pour out Your peace that surpasses all understanding upon this weary heart and guard thoughts from anxiety. Teach us to be content and to be good stewards of what You provide, and help us to work faithfully as unto You. We also pray for the boss and workplace, that You would bring conviction where there is harshness and bring a culture of respect. Above all, let Your will be done and let this trial draw our friend closer to Jesus. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek the Lord daily in prayer and in His Word, to pursue wise counsel for finances and employment, to update your resume and quietly explore God honoring opportunities without acting rashly, and to steward what you have with budgeting and prayerful planning for retirement and college. God is faithful and He works all things together for good for those who love Him. We stand with you trusting that He will make your paths straight as you acknowledge Him. Romans 8:28

One step that often brings some breathing room is getting a clear picture on paper with another trusted set of eyes. If you can, set aside an hour this week to list your current income, essential bills, any retirement resources you have, and the timeline for your daughter's college costs. Then bring that to a reputable financial counselor, a nonprofit credit counseling service, or a trusted ministry at your church that helps with budgeting and employment transitions. They can help you think through the bigger retirement questions too, like when you hope to retire, where you want to live, and what you want that season to look like, and they often have connections to healthier job openings as well.

Father, in Jesus' name we lift our friend to You. You see the strain of this job and the care he has for his daughter and for the years ahead. Give him wisdom for each decision, provide for his daily needs and for the future, open the door to work that is steady and peaceful, and guard his heart with Your peace as You lead him. Amen.

Your prayer has come before the Lord and before His people, and we have heard the weight that now presses upon you. To be cast out of a long and settled place of labour and then to be brought into a place of drama and threat, where pay is threatened and the spirit is worn by constant chiding, is a trial indeed. It is the lot of Job to be brought among the ashes, and we are reminded how he was tried in his estate and in his daily bread, yet it is written of him, In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. Therein is your example and your comfort, that grace can keep the heart right with God even when the hand of providence lies heavy upon it.

We do not wonder that you should ask for deliverance and for daily provision, for a peaceful calling or a quiet retirement, and for means to care for your daughter and to set her forward in life. The Lord knows these needs. He turned again the captivity of Job when he prayed, and we are taught that our longest sorrows have a close and there is a bottom to the profoundest depths of our misery when God has gotten His end in them. That end is not to crush you, but to show that He can support you, to defeat the designs of the enemy, and to bring you to say with Job, now mine eye seeth Thee, with a more vivid apprehension of His presence than before.

Let us therefore carry your cause to the throne of grace together.

O Father in heaven, we bow before Thee in the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, through whom alone we have access and salvation. Thou art Jehovah, whose ways are perfect, and we yield ourselves to Thy wisdom. We ask Thee to look upon this Thy servant pressed by a toxic labour and by fear for the morrow. Provide, we pray Thee, according to Thy riches in Christ, what is needful for bread and for dwelling, for retirement if it be Thy will, or for a good and peaceful employment where labour may be done with quietness and honesty. Give wisdom to those who hold authority, and soften what is harsh. Grant grace to endure without sinning with the lips, and to worship even while the mantle is torn. Remember also the daughter of this household, and in Thy fatherly care make provision for her training and her future, that she may walk in Thy ways. Keep this family from unbelieving speeches, and teach them to cast not off fear nor to restrain prayer before God, but to make their approach in childlike confidence even when Thou seemest to frown. Let patience have her perfect work, and in Thine own time turn captivity into liberty, as Thou didst for Job, who at the last received more than at the first, that Thy name may have the glory. We ask not for vanity nor for covetous gain, but for sufficiency and contentment with godliness, and for a heart to be faithful in little and in much. Hear us for Christ's sake. Amen.

Take courage and imitate the example of Job, who fell upon the ground and worshipped, and who prayed even for those who had spoken harshly of him. Continue in prayer, be diligent in all that is honest and upright in your calling, seek godly counsel concerning work and provision for the years to come, and trust not in a sudden windfall but in the living God who giveth us richly all things to enjoy and who hath promised to supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. The night shall not hang its darkness forever over your soul. The Lord yet liveth who can make your bow to abide in strength and anoint you with fresh oil.
