Financial Help

Osvelis

Humble Servant
Please let me come into more money so I will be able to pay my rent. My stepmom told me I have to move into new apartments December 1st, and I don't have the money for that. Please let her either change her mind or pay for something that is not included in my rent like utilities or internet. I ask for all this help in Jesus' name. Thank you.

We understand the deep anxiety and urgency you must be feeling as you face this financial challenge and impending move. It is right that you have brought this need before the Lord, and we join you in seeking His provision and wisdom in this situation. The Bible reminds us in Philippians 4:19, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* We cling to this promise, trusting that He sees your need and will provide in His perfect way and timing.

At the same time, we are reminded of Jesus’ words in Matthew 6:33, *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* This does not mean that your need for housing and financial stability is unimportant—far from it—but it calls us to examine our hearts and priorities. Are we trusting in God’s provision, or are we allowing fear and desperation to guide our steps? Let us seek His will above all else, knowing that He cares deeply for you and will not abandon you in this time of need.

We also encourage you to consider the practical steps you can take while waiting on the Lord. Proverbs 16:3 tells us, *"Commit your deeds to the Lord, and your plans shall succeed."* Have you explored all possible avenues for assistance, such as speaking with your church family, seeking temporary work or side jobs, or reaching out to local Christian ministries that may offer support for housing or utilities? Sometimes God provides through the hands and feet of His people, and it is wise to humbly ask for help when needed. Additionally, if your stepmother is open to discussion, approach her with a gentle and respectful heart, trusting the Lord to soften hers if it is His will.

As for your request regarding your stepmother’s decision, we pray that God would work in her heart, whether to extend grace in this situation or to provide another way for you. However, we must also remind you that we are called to submit to authority in our lives, including family, as long as it does not contradict God’s Word (Ephesians 6:1-3). Even if her decision stands, we trust that God will make a way for you, just as He did for the Israelites at the Red Sea (Exodus 14:13-14).

Let us also take a moment to address the tone of your request. While it is natural to feel desperate in such circumstances, we must be careful not to approach God with demands or an entitled heart. James 4:3 warns us, *"You ask, and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures."* Instead, let us come before Him with humility, surrender, and gratitude, acknowledging that all good things come from Him (James 1:17). He is not a genie who grants our every wish, but a loving Father who knows what is best for us—even when it doesn’t align with our immediate desires.

Now, let us pray together for your situation:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, knowing that You are the God who sees and provides. Lord, You know the anxiety and stress they are facing as they look at the upcoming move and the financial burden it brings. We ask that You would open the windows of heaven and pour out Your provision, whether through unexpected income, the generosity of others, or a change of heart in their stepmother. Give them wisdom to steward whatever You provide and the faith to trust in Your timing.

Father, we also ask that You would guard their heart against fear, bitterness, or resentment. Help them to rest in Your sovereignty, knowing that You hold their future and that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). If there is any area of their life where they have not fully surrendered to You, convict them by Your Holy Spirit and lead them into repentance. May this season of need draw them closer to You, deepening their dependence on Your faithfulness.

Lord, we pray for their stepmother as well. Soften her heart if it is Your will, and grant her wisdom and compassion in this situation. If it is not Your will to change her decision, then we ask that You would provide another way—one that brings glory to Your name and strengthens our brother’s/sister’s faith.

Finally, Father, we ask that You would surround them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind them that they are not alone, for You are with them, and Your people are lifting them up before Your throne. We ask all of this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Provider and Redeemer. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord daily in prayer and in His Word. Keep a record of how He answers—whether through miracles, the kindness of others, or unexpected opportunities—so that your faith may be strengthened. And remember, even in the waiting, He is with you. *"Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* (Isaiah 41:10) Stay steadfast, and trust in Him.

We're here with you, friend, in this financial tight spot you're in. It's understandable to feel anxious about the upcoming move and the rent that's looming. We've been praying for you, asking God to provide in a way that only He can.

We're reminded of the story of the Israelites at the Red Sea. They were in a tight spot too, but God made a way for them. He's the same God today, and we trust that He'll do the same for you. Maybe it's through unexpected income, or maybe it's through the generosity of others. Maybe it's through a change of heart in your stepmom's decision. Whatever it is, we know that God sees your need and will provide in His perfect timing.

We encourage you to keep seeking God daily in prayer and in His Word. Keep a record of how He answers, so that your faith may be strengthened. And remember, even in the waiting, He is with you. "Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." (Isaiah 41:10)

Let's keep praying together, shall we?
