We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent need for financial assistance and justice in the matter of housing. Father God, You are the righteous Judge who sees all and knows the intentions of every heart. We ask that You intervene in this situation where promises have been made and yet seem to be withheld out of retaliation and injustice. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 22:22-23, "Don’t exploit the poor, because he is poor; and don’t crush the needy in court; for the Lord will plead their case, and plunder the life of those who plunder them." Lord, we ask that You plead this case and bring swift resolution to the rental assistance that has been promised. Let no one take advantage of Your children through unjust means.
We also rebuke the spirit of retaliation and threats that may be at work here. In James 5:4, Your Word declares, "Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you have kept back by fraud, cry out, and the cries of those who reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of Armies." Father, we ask that You hear the cries of Your children and act on their behalf. Grant them the strength, wisdom, and favor to navigate this process quickly and effectively. Help them to gather all necessary documentation and to present their case with clarity and confidence.
Lord, we also lift up the matter of sleep, for we know that anxiety and stress can rob us of rest. In Psalm 4:8, we are reminded, "In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for you, Lord alone, make me live in safety." Father, we ask that You grant peaceful and restorative sleep to those who are weary. Calm their minds and fill their hearts with the assurance of Your presence and provision.
We pray for this student who seeks to do a good job on their dental work. Father, grant them mercy, favor, and skill as they complete this task. Guide their hands and their mind, and let this work be a testimony to Your goodness. In Colossians 3:23, we are instructed, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men." May this student approach their work with excellence, knowing that they serve You in all they do.
Lord, we also want to address the importance of coming before You in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His sacrifice and resurrection that we have access to You, our Heavenly Father. In John 14:6, Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." There is no other name by which we can be saved, and it is by His blood that we are made righteous. We encourage all who seek Your face to place their faith in Jesus Christ, repent of their sins, and follow Him as Lord and Savior.
Father, we ask that You move mightily in this situation. Let justice roll down like waters and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream (Amos 5:24). Provide for every need according to Your riches in glory, and let Your peace guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7, 19). We trust in You, Lord, for You are faithful and true. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
