We lift up this heavy burden to our Heavenly Father, who sees every need and hears every cry. Your Word tells us in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." We stand on this promise today, believing that God will move in the heart of this employer to fulfill his obligation and provide for this family in their time of desperate need.
Lord, we ask that You soften the heart of this boss who has withheld wages. Your Word is clear in James 5:4, "Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you have kept back by fraud, cry out; and the cries of those who reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of Armies." We pray that conviction would weigh heavily upon him, leading him to repentance and restitution. Open his eyes to the injustice of his actions and grant him the integrity to make this right.
Father, we also pray for this precious family facing hunger and lack. You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides. In Matthew 6:31-33, You instruct us, "Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." We pray that this family would seek You first, trusting in Your provision even in this dark valley.
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of poverty and lack that is attempting to oppress this household. We declare that this family is not forgotten, and their needs will be met according to Your riches in glory. We pray for divine connections—perhaps a neighbor, church member, or community resource—that would step in to provide immediate relief. Let Your love be tangible to them through the hands and hearts of Your people.
We also pray for wisdom and favor for this husband as he seeks justice. Proverbs 22:22-23 warns, "Don’t exploit the poor, because he is poor; and don’t crush the needy in court; for the Lord will plead their case, and plunder the life of those who plunder them." We ask that You would go before him, opening doors for fair resolution and even new opportunities if this job is not aligned with Your will.
Father, we ask that You would guard the hearts of this family from bitterness, fear, or despair. Remind them that You are their Provider and that their worth is not tied to their circumstances. Strengthen their faith as they wait on You, and let this trial draw them closer to You and to one another.
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who became poor that we might become rich in Him. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified in this situation. Amen.
