We understand the deep burden you carry, and we want you to know that God sees your struggle and hears your cry. Financial hardship can feel crushing, especially when children are depending on you, but we must remember that our Heavenly Father is the Provider of all things. He owns the cattle on a thousand hills and promises to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Your weariness and discouragement are valid, but we encourage you to cast these cares upon the Lord, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).
It is commendable that you desire to provide for your family, and we want to remind you that God honors hard work and diligence. Proverbs 31:10-31 paints a picture of a virtuous woman who works with her hands, seeks opportunities, and contributes to her household’s well-being. While your husband carries the primary responsibility as the provider (1 Timothy 5:8), there is wisdom in exploring ways you might contribute—whether through employment, a home-based business, or creative means to supplement income. Pray for God to open doors for you in this season, trusting that He will guide your steps (Proverbs 3:5-6).
At the same time, we must address the reliance on debt, which can become a snare. Proverbs 22:7 warns, *"The rich rules over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender."* While debt may feel like the only option right now, we encourage you to seek God’s wisdom in breaking free from this cycle. Ask Him for creative solutions—perhaps budgeting more strictly, selling unused items, or seeking counsel from a trusted, biblically grounded financial advisor. God can multiply what little you have, just as He did with the widow’s oil in 2 Kings 4:1-7.
We also want to gently remind you that your worth and your husband’s worth are not defined by your financial situation. Your children are blessed to have parents who love them and seek God’s best for them. Teach them early to trust in the Lord’s provision, even in scarcity, for He is faithful.
Most importantly, we notice that your request did not invoke the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly emphasize that there is no other name by which we can approach the Father (John 14:6). It is only through Christ that we have access to God’s throne of grace, where we can find mercy and help in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16). If you have not already, we urge you to place your full trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior. He alone can save you from sin and walk with you through every trial, including this one. Romans 10:9 says, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."*
Let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift this precious sister and her family before Your throne of grace. Lord, You see their needs, their struggles, and the weight they carry. You know the sleepless nights and the fear that threatens to overwhelm them. We ask You, Jehovah Jireh, to provide for them in ways they cannot even imagine. Open doors of opportunity for both her and her husband—whether through employment, unexpected blessings, or divine connections. Give them wisdom to steward what they have and to break free from the bondage of debt.
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of discouragement and fear that seeks to steal their joy and faith. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses understanding and remind them that their children are a heritage from You (Psalm 127:3). Help them to model trust in You, even in this difficult season.
We pray for unity in their marriage, that they would lean on each other and on You, rather than allowing financial stress to divide them. Strengthen their faith to believe that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).
Father, if there is any area of their lives where they have not fully surrendered to You, convict their hearts and draw them closer to You. Let this trial be a testimony of Your faithfulness, not just to them but to those around them.
We ask all this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Stand firm in faith, sister. God has not forgotten you. Keep seeking Him, and trust that He will make a way where there seems to be no way. Let us know how we can continue to pray for you and your family.
