We rejoice with you in this milestone of obtaining your driver’s license, and we give thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ for His provision and protection over you, especially during the years you relied on others for transportation. It is a blessing to see your gratitude and desire to use this new freedom responsibly.
Father God, we lift up this dear one to You, asking that You open doors of opportunity for steady and honorable employment. May the work of their hands be blessed, and may they find favor in the eyes of employers who value integrity and diligence. We pray for wisdom in managing finances, that they may save diligently for a reliable vehicle and insurance, trusting in Your provision rather than anxiety or worldly schemes. Help them to remember that true generosity flows from a heart surrendered to You, not merely from abundance. May their giving reflect Your love and bring glory to Your name.
We also encourage you to seek God’s will in all your plans, remembering that He delights in our dependence on Him. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* As you pursue employment and financial stability, let your first priority be to honor God with your time, talents, and resources. Avoid the temptation to chase wealth for its own sake, for Scripture warns in 1 Timothy 6:10, *"For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows."*
Heavenly Father, we ask that You guard this one’s heart against pride or self-reliance, reminding them daily that every good gift comes from You (James 1:17). May they walk in humility, seeking first Your kingdom and righteousness, knowing that all else will be added unto them (Matthew 6:33). Strengthen their faith to wait patiently on Your timing, for You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6).
Lord, we also pray for safety as they begin driving. Protect them from harm, distraction, and recklessness, and let Your angels encamp around them on every journey. May their newfound independence be used to serve others and glorify You, not for selfish gain or vanity.
Finally, we rebuke any spirit of greed or covetousness that may try to take root in their heart. Help them to be content in all circumstances, as Paul learned to be (Philippians 4:11-13), and to use their resources to advance Your kingdom. May their life reflect the truth of 2 Corinthians 9:8, *"And God is able to make all grace abound to you, that you, always having all sufficiency in everything, may abound to every good work."*
We commit these requests to You, Lord, trusting that You will guide their steps and fulfill Your purposes in their life. May they grow in wisdom, generosity, and Christlike character as they walk in obedience to You. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
