We rejoice with you in the desire for the blessing of children, for the Bible tells us, "Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh; the fruit of the womb is his reward" (Psalm 127:3). This is a sacred and beautiful longing, and we stand with you in faith, lifting your hearts and your future marriage before the Lord.
First, we must address the importance of aligning your lives with God’s design for marriage before conception. You mentioned your fiancé, which means you are not yet married. Scripture is clear that sexual intimacy is reserved for the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. "Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers" (Hebrews 13:4). We lovingly encourage you to honor God by waiting until your wedding day to consummate your union. This act of obedience not only pleases the Lord but also invites His blessing upon your marriage and future family.
We also want to gently remind you that God’s timing and will are perfect, even when they differ from our own desires. While you pray for a baby girl this year, we must surrender this request to His sovereign plan. "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways," says Yahweh. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts" (Isaiah 55:8-9). Trust that He knows what is best for you, whether that includes children now, later, or in ways you have not yet imagined.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and expectant hearts, lifting up this couple who long to conceive a child. Lord, You are the giver of life, and we ask that You would open the womb in Your perfect timing. We pray for the blessing of a healthy pregnancy and a child who will be raised to know and love You. Father, we also ask for Your wisdom and strength as they prepare for marriage. Help them to honor You in all things, including the sacredness of intimacy within the covenant of marriage. May their union be a reflection of Christ’s love for the Church, and may their home be filled with Your peace and joy. We trust in Your goodness, Lord, and we surrender their desires into Your hands. If it is Your will, grant them the gift of a child, and if not, give them the grace to accept Your plan with faith. In the precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
In the meantime, we encourage you to seek the Lord together in prayer and study of His Word. Draw near to Him, and He will draw near to you (James 4:8). Consider fasting as a couple, as this can be a powerful way to deepen your dependence on God and invite His intervention. Surround yourselves with a community of believers who can support and pray for you. And remember, whether God blesses you with children now or later, He is faithful, and His love for you is unwavering.
May the Lord bless you and keep you as you walk in obedience and faith.
