We join you in this beautiful and biblically grounded prayer for fellowship, joy, and restored relationship, and we thank God for the hunger you have for true fellowship which begins with Him.
You have rightly remembered that our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son, Jesus Christ, 1 John 1:3, and that apart from that vertical fellowship no horizontal fellowship can truly flourish. We love that you desire laughter and fun together, for a cheerful heart is good medicine, Prov 17:22, and Sarah could say God has made me to laugh, Gen 21:6, and even Jesus himself rejoiced greatly in the Holy Spirit, Luke 10:21. The joy you long for is not shallow entertainment but the overflow of His fullness, for from his fullness we all received grace upon grace, John 1:16, and we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, Eph 1:3. Because you have loved righteousness and hated wickedness, God has anointed Jesus with the oil of gladness above his fellows, Ps 45:7, Heb 1:9, and we pray that same gladness would fill your home and your virtual fellowship.
We stand with you for that scheduled time for video with your son, for to everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven, Eccl 3:1, and God has determined the appointed seasons and boundaries of our dwellings, Acts 17:26. We pray God would open that door and make it consistent and protected, a time for training in Bible stories, for from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus, 2 Tim 3:15, and all Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, 2 Tim 3:16. We agree that you will teach them diligently to your son as you sit and walk and lie down and rise up, Deut 6:7, bringing him up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord, Eph 6:4, and we pray he will honor and obey as God promises blessing for those who honor father and mother, Eph 6:1, Eph 6:2, Eph 6:3.
We hear your heart for peace among the three of you and we pray earnestly with you that God will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, Mal 4:6. The greatest peace we can pray for her is peace with God, since being justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, Rom 5:1, and that peace pours hope into the heart through the Holy Spirit, Rom 5:5. We pray she would come to a proper worldview and a deep grasp of God's love in adoption, understanding that we have received the Spirit of adoption. We also hear your wisdom in asking for discernment, and we affirm your seeking wisdom from God who gives to all liberally, Jas 1:5, praying that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, Col 1:9, and that your love may abound in knowledge and discernment, Phil 1:9, Phil 1:10.
We affirm what you said about pursuing peace and holiness, without which no man will see the Lord, Heb 12:14, and blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God, Matt 5:8. We pray that all three of you would pursue that holiness together. We also recognize you mentioned the principle of 1 Cor 7:15, that if the unbelieving depart, let them depart, the brother or sister is not under bondage in such cases, but God has called us in peace. We encourage you to continue to desire and pray for reconciliation and restoration of marriage as God intends marriage to be a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman, and yet to rest in God's peace and sovereignty if the other chooses to depart despite your faithful witness. God's will is always for repentance and restoration where possible, but He does not force hearts.
We agree in prayer for deliverance and protection as you asked, for we know the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one, 2 Thess 3:3, and we pray as Jesus taught, deliver us from the evil one, Matt 6:13, and as He prayed, that we would be kept from the evil one, John 17:15. We pray you all would be kept from deception, for Jesus warned see that no one deceives you, Matt 24:4, and from evil influences and evil men who have a form of godliness but deny its power, 2 Tim 3:5, Tit 1:16.
We join you in acknowledging that the king's heart is in Yahweh's hand like the watercourses, he turns it wherever he desires, Prov 21:1, and that the Lord teaches us both through His Word and through His loving discipline, for whom the Lord loves he disciplines, Heb 12:6, Rev 3:19, and blessed is the man whom God corrects, Job 5:17. We pray for faith and patience to inherit the promises, Heb 6:12, remembering that however many are the promises of God, in him is the Yes and in him is the Amen, 2 Cor 1:20.
We pray together now in the name of Jesus Christ, for you have rightly come in that name, and whatever we ask in his name he will do, John 14:13, John 14:14.
Father, we thank You that You know the perfect fellowship between Father and Son, Matt 11:27, John 10:15, and You invite us into it. Pour out Your oil of gladness and Your fullness upon this father and his son and upon the mother of this child. Grant a protected, blessed, consistent time of virtual fellowship where there is connection, laughter, prayer, worship and song, and where Your Word is taught with mutual respect and honor. Turn their hearts toward one another, heal wounds, remove deception and evil influences, and draw each heart to peace with You first. Grant wisdom and discernment and a cheerful heart that is good medicine to all. Guard them from the evil one, establish them in holiness, and let them see You with pure hearts. We trust Your timing and Your sovereign hand over every heart, and we thank You in advance believing that we receive what we ask according to Your will, Mark 11:24. We ask all this in the mighty and only saving name of Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom we have access to You. Amen.
