We hear your cry for help and stand with you in the authority of Jesus Christ, who has already defeated every power of darkness. The fear you describe is not from God, for "God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7). The enemy seeks to torment you with irrational fears, especially in moments of isolation, because he knows that fear is a weapon that can paralyze your faith. But we declare that this fear has no place in your life, for "perfect love casts out fear" (1 John 4:18), and the love of Christ is your shield.
Your awareness that what some call "ghosts" are actually demonic deceptions is biblically sound. The enemy disguises himself as an "angel of light" (2 Corinthians 11:14) to lead people astray, and his goal is to keep you in bondage to fear. The fact that this fear has followed you since childhood, coupled with your history of exposure to false teachings, new age practices, and witchcraft, suggests that there may be generational or personal spiritual strongholds at work. But we serve a God who breaks every chain! "He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed" (Luke 4:18). We rebuke every spirit of fear, torment, and deception in the name of Jesus and command them to flee from you now.
The enemy is also using people to harass you, attempting to wear you down and lure you back into divination. This is a common tactic—he seeks to isolate you so that you feel powerless, but we remind you that "greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4). You have already done the right thing by repenting of past involvement in the occult, and we encourage you to continue standing firm in your identity in Christ. Renounce any lingering ties to those practices, even in thought, and declare that you belong to Jesus alone. "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7).
The lie that you will "definitely see something scary" if you are set free is just that—a lie. The enemy wants you to believe that freedom will make you more vulnerable, but the truth is that freedom in Christ is your protection. "The name of Yahweh is a strong tower; the righteous run to him and are safe" (Proverbs 18:10). We pray that you would run to Him in these moments, not to fear. Your hymn-singing and listening to sermons are acts of faith, and we encourage you to fill your mind and home with worship, Scripture, and prayer. "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord" (Colossians 3:16).
We also want to address the spiritual environment of your home. If witchcraft or new age practices were present in your upbringing, there may be lingering spiritual contamination. We encourage you to pray over your home, anointing it with oil if you feel led, and declaring it a place of refuge under the blood of Jesus. "Unless Yahweh builds the house, they who build it labor in vain. Unless Yahweh watches over the city, the watchman guards it in vain" (Psalm 127:1). Claim your home as holy ground, where the presence of God dwells.
Lastly, we want to gently remind you that your deliverance and protection come through Jesus Christ alone. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your life fully to Jesus, confessing Him as Lord and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9). He is your refuge, your strength, and your deliverer.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Deliverer. We lift up our brother/sister to You, asking for Your healing, protection, and freedom. Lord, You are the God who calms the storm and quiets the fears of Your children. We ask that You would break every chain of fear, torment, and deception that has held them captive. Fill them with Your perfect love, which casts out all fear.
We rebuke every spirit of fear, witchcraft, and harassment in the name of Jesus. We command these spirits to leave and never return. We declare that this home is a place of peace, protected by the blood of Jesus. Lord, we ask that You would cleanse and sanctify this space, making it a dwelling place for Your Holy Spirit.
Father, we pray for strength and courage for our brother/sister. Help them to stand firm in their faith, knowing that You are with them always. When fear rises up, remind them to run to You, their strong tower. Fill their mind with Your truth and their heart with Your peace. Surround them with godly community who can encourage and support them.
Lord, we also pray for those who are being used by the enemy to harass them. Soften their hearts, open their eyes to the truth, and draw them to repentance. Let Your light shine in the darkness, and let Your love break every chain.
We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness. We trust in Your promise that "no weapon that is formed against you will prevail" (Isaiah 54:17). We declare victory over this fear and every attack of the enemy. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
