Beloved of All
Hello, my parents suffered their while life from intense fear of poverty, even though they had enough.I was never afraid in the past concerning money,as I fully trusted in the Lord and his provision..but since a few weeks, fear seeks to creep in.I guess, it might be a generational bandage.I am working a lot and I get well paid, there's no reason to fear. Please pray for my deliverance and that soon I can have the freedom again I used to have in the past.

We hear your heart, dear brother or sister in Christ, and we stand with you in prayer as we bring this burden before our Heavenly Father. The fear of poverty can be a heavy chain, even when our circumstances do not warrant it. We recognize that this fear may have roots in generational patterns, but we declare that in Christ, those chains are broken! The Lord has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Let us rebuke this spirit of fear in the mighty name of Jesus, for He has come to set the captives free (Luke 4:18).

We also lift up your parents to the Lord, asking for His healing and peace to cover their hearts as well. Their fears do not have to be your inheritance, for Christ has redeemed you from the curse of the law (Galatians 3:13). You have walked in trust before, and we pray that the Lord restores that freedom to you fully. Remember, our God is Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides (Genesis 22:14). He knows your needs even before you ask (Matthew 6:8), and He has promised to supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for Your faithfulness and provision in every area of our lives. Lord, we lift up this dear one who is struggling with the fear of poverty. We rebuke this spirit of fear and lack in Jesus’ name, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. We declare that this fear has no place in their life, for You are their Provider and Sustainer.

Father, we ask that You break any generational curses or patterns of fear that may be at work. We speak Your truth over their life: "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want" (Psalm 23:1). Restore to them the peace and trust they once had in You. Let them walk in the freedom that comes from knowing You as Jehovah Jireh. Remove every lie of the enemy that suggests You will not provide, and replace it with the unshakable truth of Your Word.

Lord, we also pray for their parents. Touch their hearts with Your peace and healing. Let them see Your faithfulness in their own lives so that fear no longer has dominion over them. May this family be a testimony of Your goodness and provision to all who know them.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your promises and declare that this fear will not take root. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and let them walk in the fullness of Your blessings, both spiritually and materially. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to meditate on God’s promises daily. Write down scriptures about His provision and speak them aloud when fear tries to creep in. The enemy wants to steal your peace, but God’s Word is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). Stand firm in the truth that God is your Provider, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).

If this fear persists, consider fasting and praying for a season, asking the Lord to reveal any areas where you may be holding onto doubt or unbelief. Sometimes, fear can be a signal that we need to draw closer to God and surrender our finances, our work, and our future into His hands. Trust that He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). You are not alone in this battle, and we stand with you in faith.

We hear you. It can feel so confusing when fear starts knocking even though nothing has changed on paper, your work, your paycheck, your track record of God’s provision. That longing to get back the freedom you used to walk in is real, and we’re with you in that.

You mentioned a suspicion about a generational pattern, and while we can’t diagnose a spiritual root, even that hunch is worth paying attention to. Fear of lack can run deep, sometimes passed down like a family story that never quite belonged to us. But Jesus came to break every chain, including those that try to whisper that our security hangs on our own striving rather than on His steady, fatherly care.

What seems clear is that you already know the truth: you once trusted the Lord fully, and He was faithful. The circumstances that anchored that trust haven’t changed, but something has tried to pull your eyes away. That doesn’t mean your faith has failed; it means an old, noisy lie is looking for a place to land. One concrete step we’d gently offer is to share this openly with a trusted, spiritually mature friend or your pastor. Bring it into the light in prayer together, not just to ask for deliverance, but to reaffirm out loud what is still true about God’s provision. Fear often loses its grip when we stop facing it alone. Also, it might help to notice any ordinary pressures or news stories about the economy that have been stirring beneath the surface. Not to blame yourself, but to name what’s weighing on you so you can hand it back to God.

Let’s pray briefly: Father, in Jesus’ name we lift up this one who once rested in Your care. Silence the voice of poverty-fear, uproot any lie, and sever whatever does not come from You. Restore the deep, simple confidence that You provide all we need. Let Your peace come alongside again and guard heart and mind. We ask for a fresh taste of that freedom, right now. Amen.

This creeping fear of poverty, though it seems to come as a thief in the night, is but a new form of the old bondage. That spirit of fear is not from the Lord, for we have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear, but the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. Your parents’ lifelong dread, a chain of many links, may have rustled near you, but it has no more claim upon a child of God than the fear of death had upon the martyrs who triumphed over the grave. Deliverance is of the Lord, yet it must be seized by the hand of faith.

You trusted Him in the past with a light heart; trust Him now in the dark valley. If you say, “Lord, I cannot trust You unless I feel this or that,” you make a god out of your feelings and a savior out of your inward griefs. Trust Jesus Christ just as you are, without those feelings which you suppose necessary. He who found a ransom for your soul from the pit of hell, will He not also ransom your daily bread?

The clock of mercy struck for you long ago at Calvary; its echoes ring on against every foe, even this specter of want. I am praying that you may fling yourself upon the finished work of Christ once more, and in that very act, discover that you are already delivered, for nothing short of Omnipotent Grace could lead you to believe and live. You have enough; you are well paid; the Father’s good pleasure is to give you the kingdom. Then why shrink back?

Did not Jacob cross the brook full of fear, only to meet a brother with embraces? God has not left you, nor any of His Jacobs. Put out your empty hand and receive afresh the Pearl of Great Price, and let the chains of generational bondage fall away, for whom the Son makes free is free indeed.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your fear has no foundation in reason, for you have enough; yet you tremble as if you were destitute. Consider the birds of the air, which neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? If God clothes the grass of the field, which today is and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? The fear itself is the true poverty, not the lack of silver vessels or many servants. A man who has necessaries enough but dreads want is already impoverished in soul, enslaved by a phantom. You say this may be a generational bondage, but I tell you, Christ has delivered us from every yoke. Through His death and resurrection, the power of every crippling fear is shattered. He took on our flesh, pierced and blood-stained, that we might partake of His body and blood and be set free, free from bondage to sin, to death, and yes, to the tyranny of baseless terrors.

Account poverty to be nothing to fear, and it will not be a matter for fear. It is not poverty that is terrible, but the unwillingness to be poor. For what evil does poverty bring? It compels a man to work, not to steal; it drives him to trust God rather than his own hoarded gold. The covetous man, the richer he grows, the more he clutches, and the more he fears losing all. His wealth is a snare, a heavy chain, while the poor man who fears the Lord sleeps soundly, with no robbers to dread, no flatterers to suspect. Your past freedom came not from your salary but from your full trust in the Lord’s provision. That trust remains true; the Lord does not change. It is your perception that has wavered, and this the enemy uses to make you gaze upon the waves instead of upon Christ.

Cast out this fear by filling your mind with the remembrance of God’s faithfulness. You have been well paid for your labor, give thanks, and do not let your heart be troubled by what may never come. The very thing you fear, poverty, if it should ever arrive, would find you already armed by grace. For what the world calls poverty is often a fountain of blessings: freedom from care, deliverance from envy, and a simplicity that makes the soul rich toward God. The apostle Paul, a tent-maker, was worshiped as a god; poor men of old were honored while kings perished miserably. The fear you feel is not a heritage that must bind you; the blood of Christ is stronger. Take the cup of the Lord again with a clear conscience, knowing that He who gave His side to be pierced will not withhold what you need. Look not at the invisible terrors your parents harbored, but at the visible proofs of God’s daily mercy. Stand firm in liberty, not subject again to a yoke of bondage.
