๐Ÿ“– "Pray then after this manner:

๐Ÿ™Œ โ€˜Our Father who is in Heaven,
๐Ÿ™ Your Name be Honored!
Your kingdom Come!
Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven!
<โ€”โ€”โ€”--------โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€” โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”------โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”โ€”>
๐Ÿ™ Give us our daily bread.
Forgive our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil ๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿคบ.

๐Ÿ™Œ For itโ€™s Your Kingdom, Power and Glory Forever, Amen,โ€ Matt 6:9-13, Thank You in Jesus' Name.

We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of gratitude for the model of prayer our Lord Jesus Christ gave us in Matthew 6:9-13. This prayer is not merely a recitation but a blueprint for aligning our hearts with Godโ€™s will, seeking His kingdom first, and trusting in His provision. We rejoice that you recognize the importance of honoring the Fatherโ€™s glory and submitting to His will above all else, for this is the foundation of true prayer.

You rightly point us to 1 John 7:18, though we note that Scripture does not contain a 1 John 7:18, as 1 John has only five chapters. However, we understand your reference may be to 1 John 5:18, which declares, "We know that whoever is born of God doesnโ€™t sin, but he who was born of God keeps himself, and the evil one doesnโ€™t touch him." This verse reminds us that those who are in Christ are protected by His power, and we are called to live in a manner that reflects our new birth in Him. Let us also remember that while we strive for holiness, we are not perfect, and we rely on Godโ€™s grace and the blood of Jesus to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

Your emphasis on seeking Godโ€™s kingdom first, as outlined in Matthew 6:33, is a timely reminder for all of us: "But seek first Godโ€™s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." This is not a promise of material abundance without effort, but a call to prioritize our relationship with God above all else. When we do so, He promises to provide for our needs, not necessarily our wants, but what is truly necessary for His purposes in our lives. This includes spiritual provision, such as wisdom, peace, and the strength to walk in obedience, as well as physical needs like food, shelter, and protection.

We also lift up the matter of our relationships with God and others, which are intertwined with the prayer for daily bread and forgiveness. Jesus teaches us to ask for our daily bread, acknowledging our dependence on God for even the most basic needs. This humility is essential in our walk with Him. Furthermore, the prayer for forgiveness is tied to our willingness to forgive others, as Jesus warns in Matthew 6:14-15: "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you donโ€™t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." Unforgiveness is a heavy burden that hinders our relationship with God and others. We must examine our hearts and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any bitterness or resentment we may be harboring, so we can release it and walk in the freedom of forgiveness.

Protection from evil is another critical aspect of this prayer. The world is filled with spiritual warfare, and we are not ignorant of the devilโ€™s schemes (2 Corinthians 2:11). We must put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) and stand firm against the enemyโ€™s attacks. This includes guarding our hearts and minds from temptation, whether it be in the form of lust, greed, pride, or any other sin that seeks to ensnare us. We must also be vigilant in protecting our families, our churches, and our communities from the influences of the world that seek to draw us away from Godโ€™s truth.

Let us also address the importance of praying in Jesusโ€™ name. You rightly close your prayer with gratitude in Jesusโ€™ name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself declares in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). When we pray, we must do so with the understanding that we are approaching the throne of grace through the merit of Christโ€™s sacrifice, not our own righteousness. This is why we must also ensure that our lives align with His will, for the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective (James 5:16).

Now, let us come together in prayer, lifting up these truths before our Heavenly Father:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of prayer and for the example Your Son, Jesus Christ, gave us to follow. We come before You now, acknowledging that You alone are holy, and Your name is worthy of all honor and praise. Your kingdom is eternal, and Your will is perfect. We surrender our lives to You, asking that Your kingdom would come and Your will would be done in our lives, our families, our churches, and our nations, just as it is in heaven.

Lord, we ask for our daily bread, both physical and spiritual. Provide for our needs according to Your riches in glory. Give us the wisdom to steward what You entrust to us, and help us to be content with what we have, trusting in Your provision. Forgive us our debts, Father, as we forgive those who have sinned against us. Search our hearts and reveal any unforgiveness or bitterness we may be holding onto. Give us the strength to release it and walk in the freedom of Your grace.

Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Protect us from the schemes of the enemy and guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Help us to stand firm in the faith, clothed in Your armor, and ready to resist the devilโ€™s attacks. We declare that no weapon formed against us shall prosper, for we are more than conquerors through Christ who loves us (Romans 8:37).

Father, we pray for our relationships, with You and with others. Help us to love You with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. May our marriages reflect the love and commitment of Christ and the Church, and may our families be built on the foundation of Your Word. For those who are single, we pray that You would prepare them for godly marriages if that is Your will, and that they would use this season to grow in their relationship with You.

We also rebuke any ungodly relationships or patterns in our lives that do not align with Your Word. For those struggling with sexual sin, whether it be fornication, adultery, or homosexuality, we pray for conviction, repentance, and healing. Your Word is clear that these things are not Your design, and we ask for Your strength to walk in purity and holiness. Help us to flee from temptation and to pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace (2 Timothy 2:22).

Father, we thank You for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. We pray for those who do not yet know Him, that their hearts would be softened and their eyes opened to the truth of the gospel. May they come to repentance and faith in Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can be saved.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for Yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

Weโ€™re grateful you brought these words before the Lord, they truly are the prayer Jesus gave us, and they never grow old. When we pray them together, even across distance, weโ€™re anchoring ourselves in the same priorities He taught: Godโ€™s glory first, then our dependence on Him for daily needs, forgiveness, and protection. Thereโ€™s a steadying comfort in that order, especially when life feels uncertain or heavy.

One thing weโ€™ve found helpful is to pause over a phrase each day and let it shape the moments that follow, maybe today itโ€™s โ€œGive us our daily bread,โ€ simply trusting Him for whatever the day requires, and then offering that same trust back to Him in the evening. Youโ€™re already doing the most important thing: keeping your heart turned toward the Father, aligning with His will. That place of surrender is where real guidance grows, often quietly, one day at a time.

We join you in what youโ€™ve prayed, and we lift it again now.

Father, thank You for teaching us to pray. May Your name be honored among us, and Your kingdom come in our hearts and in our community. Give us this day what we truly need. Forgive us as we forgive, and lead us not into testing, but deliver us from evil. We trust Your kingdom and power and glory forever. In Jesusโ€™ name, Amen.

This prayer after our Lord's own pattern sets first things first. The glory of the Father's name, the coming of His kingdom, the doing of His will, these must occupy the chief place in every petition that rises from a renewed heart. When the soul is truly aligned with this holy order, all lesser needs fall into their proper place, for He has promised that seeking first the kingdom and His righteousness brings all necessary things in its train.

The cry for daily bread is heard by Him who feeds the ravens and clothes the lilies. He who gave His own dear Son to put away our sin will certainly not withhold bread and water. Has He delivered us from the power of darkness? Then He will assuredly help us in our daily troubles. Every morsel we eat comes from the hand of a reconciled Father, and the Providence that supplies our temporal wants is the same that governs all our trials. Tribulation itself comes within the sacred zone of His overruling government, He fills the bitter cup as well as the sweet goblet.

But what is this petition that follows? "Forgive our debts, as we forgive our debtors." Here is the very heartbeat of the Gospel. There is forgiveness with Him that He may be feared. This forgiveness is a divine act, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions for Mine own sake. No priest, no ordinance, no human absolution can touch the guilt of sin; it is God's prerogative alone. And this pardon comes through a ransom found by Infinite Wisdom, the precious blood of Christ, who was delivered for our offences and raised again for our justification. His pardon covers all, past, present, and future, and is an eternal forgiveness. When He issues pardon from His Throne, He never afterward executes the pardoned sinner.

Yet mark the union, "as we forgive our debtors." The grace we have received becomes the pattern of the grace we extend. He who has been forgiven ten thousand talents must not seize his fellow-servant by the throat for a hundred pence. The forgiveness we enjoy is a continuous stream, and we daily ask for the perpetuation of that one far-reaching act of absolution that cleansed us at the first. The inward peace that stole over the poor paralytic's soul before his body rose from that bed is the same peace that attends every conscious pardon. Deliverance from the guilt of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from its power.

"Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil." Here is the cry of the soul that knows its own weakness and the malice of the Evil One. We have been delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the kingdom of God's dear Son, yet the archers still shoot their fiery darts. The arrow that finds the joints of the harness is that insinuation which whispers, "Thou art forsaken, thy God will be gracious no more." But the voice from the excellent Glory cries, "Deliver him from going down to the Pit." He who began the good work will perfect it. Temptation shall not overtake us beyond what He enables us to bear, and the wicked one touches us not with final destruction. The chastening may be sore, but it is chastisement, not punishment, the Great First Cause works our education and establishment through every stroke. The second agent may seek our ruin, but the Lord overrules for our refining.

This is the confidence of the believing heart as it returns to the doxology. Thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The pattern of this prayer is beautiful, ordering all things rightly. You begin not with your own need, but with the Fatherโ€™s glory, His kingdom, His will. This is the very order of seeking first the kingdom. Yet see what follows this heavenly beginning. The Master, having lifted your mind to the angelic life where His will is done without passion, immediately condescends to the tyranny of your nature. He who commanded the perfection of conduct knows your flesh requires necessary food. So He grants you to ask, but notice the limit: โ€œdaily bread.โ€ He does not permit a petition for riches, for years of plenty, for delicate living, but only for the bread of one day. This is so your soul may be fastened on the things more necessary, and you would learn to take no thought for the morrow. To ask for more than this is the shamelessness of an untrained appetite, a belly doing all things for its own sake while neglecting the kingdom set before it.

And what follows this request for bread? You rightly ask for the forgiveness of debts, but you bind this to your own forgiveness of others. Ponder the unspeakable gift you have already received. You who were sitting in darkness, at enmity, hated of God, and lost, were suddenly enlightened and counted worthy of adoption as a son, of the kingdom of heaven, of the heavenly mysteries. This forgiveness is a blessedness beyond all glory, where every shame is removed. How then, after being forgiven so great a debt, could you seize your fellow servant by the throat for a few pennies? If we are all nourished by the one Bread, and all become the one Body of Christ, why do we not also show forth the same love and become one in this respect? To hold a grudge while praying this prayer is to call down condemnation upon your own head, asking God not to forgive you.

Then you plead, โ€œLead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.โ€ You fear rightly, for these are not small trials but tribulations, distresses, and perils that can shake even the firmest resolution. Yet be of good courage. The God who is faithful will not suffer you to be tempted above what you are able to bear; He will with the temptation make a way of escape. Remember, this is not a life of ease. We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter, exposed daily to death for the King of the universe. But this is your consolation and your crown. He who is ready to die daily for Him keeps receiving a full reward. The traps of money and vain glory are far more dangerous than the sword, for they enslave the soul quietly. So let your prayer for deliverance be matched by a resolve to suffer hardship. Those who live only for this belly have their reward, but you are asking for a kingdom that endures forever. Let your life be worthy of the prayer, for Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, and the life of a faithful one displays that glory even now.
