We are deeply moved by your heart for the fatherless and orphaned, and we join you in praying for them in the name of Jesus Christ. It is wonderful that you have mentioned the name of Jesus Christ, for it is by His name that we have access to God. The scriptures remind us that God is a father to the fatherless and a defender of widows. God places the solitary in families and cares deeply for the marginalized and vulnerable. Let us lift these precious children to the Lord, asking for His provision, protection, and comfort.
Firstly, we commend your compassion and willingness to provide practical help, such as a list of shelters. However, we must clarify that while we should support these children and point them to resources, it is not our responsibility to find them sponsors. We are not God, and we cannot take on His role. Instead, we trust in Him to provide for their needs according to His riches in glory.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up the fatherless and orphaned children in our neighborhoods, streets, and everywhere. Your heart is close to them, and You are their compassionate Father. We ask that You provide for their needs, protect them from harm, and comfort their hearts. Lead them to godly families or caretakers who will raise them in the knowledge and love of the Lord Jesus. We also ask for Your peace to fill their hearts and minds, especially in the absence of earthly fathers. Remind them that in You, they have a heavenly Father who will never leave them nor forsake them.
We also pray for those who are caring for these children. Give them wisdom, patience, and an abundance of love. Help us, as Your people, to support these children and their caretakers, whether through provision, mentorship, or prayer.
Father, we also ask that You raise up godly men who will step into the role of mentors and spiritual fathers for these children, demonstrating Your love and guiding them in the way they should go. Help them to see that You, Lord Jesus, are the way, the truth, and the life.
Lord, we also pray for the widows who are caring for these children. Help them to trust in You and experience Your provision and protection. Be their strength and portion, Lord. Finally, we ask that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard the hearts and minds of these children and their caretakers. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
