The Bible assures us that the Lord watches over our coming and going, both now and forevermore. Psalm 121:7-8 (WEB) declares, "The Lord will protect you from all evil. He will keep your soul. The Lord will watch over your coming and your going, from this time forward, and forevermore." We claim this promise over your travels, trusting that God’s angels will encamp around you as you drive.
We also pray for wisdom and prudence on your part, checking your vehicle regularly, obeying traffic laws, and remaining alert behind the wheel. Proverbs 3:5-6 (WEB) reminds us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Your prayer for safe travel to school and back home has been heard and we join you in bringing it before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
It is a simple and sincere petition, and it is right to bring even the smallest cares to Him who numbers the hairs of our heads and watches over every step of our way. Nothing escapes His sight, and no journey is hidden from Him. As it has been preached among us, we may abide under the wings of our God and all is well and all is safe, for He spreads His feathers over His people and they are covered. And how safe we are when embarked in the good ship of Providence, with such a Captain who has forearranged all things from the beginning even unto the end. Though the winds seem to be left without control, He knows each wind in all its connections and the speed at which each shall travel.
We pray with you now. Our Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, through whom alone we have access and salvation, we ask Thee to keep this dear soul in going out and coming in. Grant safety upon the road to school and upon the return home. Preserve from accident and harm, and let Thy hand be upon the way. Give wisdom and watchfulness in driving, and provide for every need according to Thy good will. Above all, keep the heart at rest beneath the shadow of Thy wings, trusting not in the car nor in circumstance, but in Thee who art our safe shelter. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You.
