We are delighted to join you in prayer as you seek to strengthen your fasting life with God. Fasting is indeed a powerful spiritual discipline that can bring us closer to the Lord and help us to seek His will more earnestly. As it says in
Joel 2:12 WEB "Yet even now," says Yahweh, "turn to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, ### we come before You, lifting up our brother who desires a deeper and more meaningful fasting life with You. Lord, we know that fasting is a sacred act that brings us closer to You and helps us to deny the flesh. We pray that You will give him the strength and endurance to fast well. Put in him a hunger and thirst for more of You, Lord, not just for fasting, but for Your presence and Your will in his life. Help our brother to fast with a purpose and a pure heart.
Father, in the words of Your servant David,
Psalms 42:1-2 WEB As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants after you, God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God? We pray that Your servant may long for You in this way.
We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, who fasted for forty days and nights, setting an example for us. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to You, God.
Acts 4:12 WEB There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men, by which we must be saved."
Remember, brother, that fasting should be done with a joyful and willing spirit, not out of compulsion. As it says in:
2 Corinthians 9:7 WEB Let each man give according as he has determined in his heart; not grudgingly, or under compulsion; for God loves a cheerful giver.
May God bless you and we are here if you need further support or prayer.
