We join you in lifting your family before the Lord and we hear the weight you are carrying for your mom and your brothers. The loss of your father when you were young and the pain of your mom's remarriage that did not work out has left deep wounds, and we grieve with you over the strife and strain in your home. We know our God sees your mom in her loneliness and exhaustion, for A father of the fatherless and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. Psalm 68:5. He also sees your brothers in their suffering and we ask Him to draw near to all of you.
We pray for your mom to feel comforted and loved and to receive clear direction from God. The Lord promises Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10. We also pray He will give her wisdom beyond her own understanding, for But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him. James 1:5. We understand your concern about her considering letting strangers move in and asking your brothers to leave, especially with winter coming in northern Michigan. While Scripture calls us to show hospitality, it also calls us to provide for our own household with discernment and protection. But if anyone doesn't provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever. 1 Timothy 5:8. It would not be loving or safe to trade the responsibility for her own sons for strangers she does not know, especially when there are concerns about drug use and safety in the area. We gently encourage you and your mom to not view those who are homeless with contempt, for each is made in God's image and in need of Christ, yet we also affirm your discernment that she must not be taken advantage of and must guard her home. True love is wise and sets healthy boundaries. We encourage her to seek godly counsel from a local Bible believing church and perhaps Christian family services or pastoral help before making any housing decisions, and to trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6.
We lift your brothers to the Lord for healing. We pray for their minds and bodies, for stability with their bipolar disorder and for wisdom for their doctors regarding their medication after the scares this summer. We pray He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3. We ask God to help them find purpose and, as they are able, to take steps toward stewardship and work according to their ability, and to seek the help they need with humility and consistency. We pray for peace in the home where there has been strife, that you may as much as it is possible live at peace with one another, and we pray for your nieces, your brothers' daughters, that the Lord would protect them and keep them from evil. We claim His promise that But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you, and guard you from the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3. We ask for safety for all of you through the winter, for provision of shelter and warmth and for protection from those who would do harm.
We notice your prayer closed with amen but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. And There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is because Jesus died for our sins and rose again that we can bring every burden directly to God with confidence, and we want to be sure you know Him as Savior. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Him, confess Him as Lord, and follow Him.
We pray together, Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we lift this precious family to You. We ask You to comfort this mother in her loneliness and grief, to surround her with Your love and to give her clear direction and godly wisdom for every decision about her home and her sons. Guard her from being deceived or taken advantage of, and provide for her needs. We ask for Your healing hand upon both brothers, for stability of mind, for safety with their medication, for peace that surpasses understanding to guard their hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. Provide safe shelter for them through the winter and keep them from harm and from evil influences. Protect their daughters wherever they are. Bring peace into this household, soften hearts, remove strife, and help this family to bear one another's burdens in love while seeking You first. Lead them to a faithful local church where they can receive support and accountability. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, amen.
We encourage you to continue to honor your mother as Scripture commands and to remain a steady, prayerful support to her and your brothers, while also encouraging them toward godly responsibility and proper medical care. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. We will keep standing with you in prayer, trusting God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1.
