Your thanksgiving to Jesus is a sweet and right beginning, for every good gift comes from His hand, and it is He who has made you what you are by His grace. I rejoice to hear your heart lifted for your family, and I join my prayers with yours before the throne of grace.
You have asked for health, happiness, peace and prosperity, for unity and protection from strife, and for the Lord's hand upon your work, your son's function, your sister's marriage, and upon matters concerning your house, car and land. These are burdens which you do well to place in the hands of Him who cares for you, for He is the God of Peace and He delights to bless His people with peace.
Remember that the deepest peace is not merely peace in the home or peace in circumstances, but peace with God through the blood of Jesus Christ. As it is written, you will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, and that peace is the fountain from which every other true peace flows. Peace with God is the treaty, and peace in the conscience and in the family is the crystal stream which issues from it. Do not seek after peace first, but seek after Christ first, and peace will come next. There is no peace worthy of the name that is to be found in any other way than by believing on Him who has made peace by His blood.
When that peace reigns in the heart, then there is a peace which may be enjoyed in the ordinary circumstances of life, even with duties pressing and sorrows surging round. It is a present possession for those whose trust is stayed upon the Lord. Bring your family cares to Him, for when children are given and with them come new burdens, and when riches or poverty bring their cares, He gives peace to those who wait upon Him.
For your family, I pray that the Lord will keep you in the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. True unity is not merely the absence of quarrelling, but a unity of holy hearts knit together in Christ. May He gently remove misunderstandings, soften every heart to forgive as Christ has forgiven, and teach each one to bear with one another in love. May your home know that concord which comes from being bound together in closest ties to every child of God through Jesus Christ.
For your work, I pray that you may do the will of Jesus, for to do His will is rest. May He grant you diligence and favour, and provide what is needful according to His wisdom, whether it be growth, increment or promotion, and give you contentment to trust His timing and His hand.
For your son, I ask the Lord to be his keeper and to let his function be carried out in joy and in order, without hindrance, to the encouragement of all who gather.
For your sister's marriage, I pray that it may be entered into as God ordained, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that it may be blessed with love, fidelity and holiness, and that you with all your family may rejoice together there in peace and gladness.
For the matters of house, car and land, I pray that the Lord, who is unmoved when we are troubled, will grant you wisdom, fairness and a peaceful settlement. May He guide your steps, restrain all strife, and cause that which is right and just to prevail, that everything may be settled in a way that honours Him and gives you quietness of heart.
Go in peace, for this is our Lord's legacy to His disciples, Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you. It is enough. Earth's struggles soon shall cease, and Jesus calls us to Heaven's perfect peace. Keep your mind stayed upon Him, trust in Him at all times, and the peace of God which passes all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
May the God of Peace Himself be with you and all your household, and keep you in perfect peace now and evermore. Amen.
