Silas
Beloved of All
Your prayer for strength and protection over your family is heard, and it is right to bring your family before the Lord in this way. God has established the family as a foundation, and He cares deeply for what you are facing together.
The battles you are fighting are not only the visible hardships and pressures of daily life. Scripture teaches that our deepest warfare is spiritual. There is a constant conflict unseen to us between the Lord and His angels and the forces of darkness, and we often feel the effects of that conflict in our own hearts and homes as restlessness, heaviness, fear, or discouragement. That is why the struggle can feel so much larger than circumstances alone.
Because the warfare is spiritual, the weapons must be spiritual as well. You cannot win this kind of battle with human effort or willpower. God has provided what you need. His Word, your faith in Him, and prayer are the means by which you stand against the enemy. The real place of battle is often the mind, where thoughts and fears try to take hold, and it is there that the truth of Scripture and trusting prayer bring victory.
Scripture says blessed is the person whose strength is in the Lord. When you recognize your own weakness and place your trust in Him, you find His strength. His strength is made perfect in weakness, so you can even be thankful for weakness because it opens the way for His power to be revealed in you. When you pass through valleys of weeping and difficulty with your strength in Him, He turns those dry and painful places into wells of refreshment. You go from strength to strength as you appear before Him.
The Lord Himself is your protection. He is your light and your salvation, so you do not need to be afraid. He is your strength and your shield, a strong tower from the enemy and a covering as under wings. He is the one who gives strength to His people and blesses His people with peace. When you are afraid, you can choose to trust in Him and cast your burdens on Him, and He will sustain you. His promises in His Word are your stay and assurance, turning defeat into confidence because you know He has promised victory.
May you find that strength now. Pray together as a family, speak Scripture over your home, and trust the Lord to be your help and defender. May He guard your household, keep you from harm, give you His peace, and make His strength evident in every area where you feel weak. May He draw each member of your family closer to Himself through Jesus Christ and cause you to stand strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
