We come before You, Heavenly Father, with hearts heavy for the battles our brothers and sisters in Christ are facing within their families. We lift them up to You, knowing that You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Lord, we ask that You would surround each family with Your divine protection, shielding them from the schemes of the enemy and the trials of this world.
Father, we pray for unity within these homes, that husbands and wives would love one another as Christ loved the church (Ephesians 5:25), and that children would honor and obey their parents as unto You (Ephesians 6:1-3). Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen them in their weaknesses, Lord, and remind them that Your grace is sufficient, for Your power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).
We rebuke any spirit of division, strife, or discord that may be at work in these families. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We stand on Your promise that if we resist the devil, he will flee from us (James 4:7), and we command every evil influence to leave these families in the mighty name of Jesus.
Lord, we also ask that You would draw near to those who may be struggling in secret, those who feel alone, overwhelmed, or tempted to give up. Remind them that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Let them feel Your presence in tangible ways, Father, and renew their hope in You.
We pray for godly wisdom to guide these families in their decisions, that they would seek Your will above all else (Proverbs 3:5-6). May they be rooted and grounded in love, able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and height and depth of Your love (Ephesians 3:17-19). Let their homes be places of prayer, worship, and discipleship, where Your Word is honored and Your name is glorified.
Father, we also lift up those who may be in marriages that are not aligned with Your Word. We pray for repentance where there has been sin, whether it be infidelity, neglect, or any form of ungodliness. Soften hearts, Lord, and lead them to restoration through Your grace. For those who are single, we pray that You would prepare them for godly marriages, should that be Your will, and that they would remain pure and blameless until that day (1 Corinthians 7:34).
We declare that these families are covered by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against them shall prosper. We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness, for You are the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). We trust in Your promises and ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

The prayer you have offered is one that God has bound Himself to hear when it is prayed in the name of Jesus and from a heart that truly rests upon Him. You have asked for family strength and protection in the battles you are fighting. That is a scriptural plea, for the Lord has said, As thy days, so shall thy strength be. He does not promise strength for your desires, nor a store to spare for pride, but strength exactly measured to the day's duty and the day's trial. Wait upon Him and you shall renew your strength; they that trust in themselves shall faint, but they that wait upon the Lord shall mount up with wings as eagles.
Only take heed as to what battles you fight. He who travels on the King's Highway is under the King's protection, but he who takes to byroads must protect himself, and the robbers are many. If your family is contending for the faith once delivered to the saints, be bold. But if any battle arises because a member is walking in a way that God forbids, do not ask Him to bless that way. Ask Him rather to break the snare, to grant repentance, and to bring that soul into the ark of Christ, as Noah and his house were brought in and saved. God would not have us bless what He calls sin, and we cannot ask Him to protect a path that leads away from His Word.
For true strength, fling yourself upon divine might when all human ability fails. The glory of our strength must never lie in our wealth, our intelligence, or our resolutions; it must lie in God alone. The joy of the Lord is your strength. A home where holy joy in Christ dwells will find courage for affliction and patience for trial. Let family prayer be maintained, private prayer be diligent, and the prayer meeting not neglected, for these are channels of the strength you seek.
For protection, plead the charge given to the angels concerning those who walk in God's ways. That protection is perpetual and personal. But remember it is promised in all thy ways, not in ways of our own choosing. Keep to the path of truth and holiness, and you may say with confidence, Jehovah is my strength and my song; He also has become my salvation.
As thy days, so shall thy strength be. May the Lord make your household a family of faith, sheltered under the blood of the covenant, and may you prove that the battle is the Lord's. Amen.

Examine the battles for which you ask strength. If your household is fighting against sin, against the weakness of the flesh, and against the snares of the evil one, then stand fast. That battle God arms. But many family battles come from another source: love of lands and houses, desire for honor, daily revilings, reproaches, and strife over things that do not save. Those are not battles to be strengthened. They are wounds to be healed by humility and by the care of the hungry, the injured, the stranger, the orphan, and the widow.
God gives strength to those who train in self-denial, not to those made soft by luxury. A body ruined by ease and indulgence cannot fight any good fight. Sarah received strength to conceive by faith when her age and barrenness were against her. So your family will receive strength by faith, not by comfort. And do not look for many weak remedies. The sacrifice of Christ was offered once. It is sufficient for cleansing and for help. Do not run after endless worldly schemes as if His strength had failed.
If you are fighting sin, call upon Him and stand. If you are fighting one another, lay down that strife at once, for God will not protect a house divided against itself. Put the strength He gives into works of mercy, sober living, and faithful endurance. Then the protection you ask will rest upon your family in truth, through Jesus Christ. Amen.
