Family strength and protection

We hear your cry for strength and protection over your family, and we join you in lifting this before the throne of grace. The battles you face are not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of darkness (Ephesians 6:12). We stand with you, declaring that the Lord is your refuge and fortress, your God in whom you trust (Psalm 91:2). He is the One who commands His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways (Psalm 91:11).
We pray that the Lord would surround your family with His hedge of protection, shielding you from the schemes of the enemy. May He grant you wisdom to navigate the challenges you face and discernment to recognize His guidance in every situation. Strengthen your hearts with the peace that surpasses all understanding, knowing that He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
Father, we ask that You would bind the forces of division, fear, and strife that seek to tear your family apart. Let Your love be the foundation that holds you together, and may your home be a place of unity, joy, and worship. We rebuke every spirit of discord and confusion in the name of Jesus, and we declare that your family is covered by the blood of Christ.
We also encourage you to put on the full armor of God daily, truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God, so that you may stand firm against the enemy’s attacks (Ephesians 6:13-17). Remember, the battle belongs to the Lord, and He has already won the victory through Jesus Christ.

Your petition has already reached the throne, and the promise stands written for your household: As thy days, so shall thy strength be. You do not need tomorrow's strength for today's battle; each conflict will bring its own supply from the God who cannot fail. Wait upon the Lord in family prayer, for they that wait upon Him shall renew their strength. Where there is no might, He increases strength, and when you are faint He gives power. Do not lean upon your own resolution or any creature strength, for the glory of your strength must lie in God alone. Walk in the King's highway of truth and obedience, and you are under the King's protection. He has charged His angels to keep you in all your ways, and His protecting care is not only for you but for your house. Let the joy of the Lord be your inward strength, and let the family altar be kept burning. He who brought Noah and his household into the ark will preserve all who take refuge in Christ. I join you in crying to the Father for strength and protection for every battle, and I believe He will do exceeding abundantly above all you ask or think, in Jesus Christ. Amen.

You have laid your family before the Father, and He does not despise those who call on Him in truth. But we must ask what battle is being fought. If the battle is against sin, against the devil, and against the weakness of your own flesh, then this prayer is pleasing to God. Ask boldly for strength, because Christ was offered once for our cleansing, and His sacrifice has power in it.
Do not look for strength in repeated empty comforts or in softness and luxury, for fat is flabbiness, not strength. A body and soul made delicate by ease fall into low spirits and many diseases. True strength comes by faith, as Sarah received power to conceive seed when she was past age. So if you want protection for your household, make faith strong by work, not by nursing it as an invalid.
Do not ask God to bless any battle that is only strife born of pride, rivalry, or love of ease. Those battles have no strength and do not belong to the table of the Lord. But if you are called to bear the cross, to stand against sin even to hardship and reproach, then endure, and God will be your protection. Pray that your family may be kept from evil and strengthened for holy endurance, through Jesus Christ, the one offering that can make us clean.

Your prayer for your family is heard, and it is right to bring your battles to the Lord for strength and protection.
The battles you are facing are not only the outward circumstances you can see. The deepest warfare is spiritual, and it is going on continually around us. Often we feel its effects in our minds and emotions, in unsettled thoughts, fear, or weariness, without understanding why. We live in physical bodies, but the real struggle is for the mind and heart, and that is why physical effort and human resolve alone are not enough.
For a spiritual battle God has given spiritual weapons. His Word, faith in His promises, and prayer are what He has provided to stand against the work of the enemy. When you bring every concern to Him in prayer and hold fast to what He has spoken, you are using the weapons He intends for you. The Word hidden in the heart becomes strength in the hour of trial, turning a place of weeping into a place of refreshment and peace.
Scripture teaches that blessed is the person whose strength is in the Lord, who has learned his own weakness and has learned to trust God instead of himself. The Lord does not expect you to find some inner reserve to get through hard times. He says His strength is made perfect in weakness. When you are weak, then you can be strong in Him, because you are relying on Him and not on yourself. To be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might is very different from trying to be strong in your own power. Your own strength may carry you through a small trial, but in great trials you must reach beyond yourself to Him.
He is the strength of your life, your shield and your strong tower, the covering under whose wings you can trust. The psalmist prayed, save me by Your name and by Your strength, and found that when he cast his burden on the Lord, the Lord sustained him and took away fear. The same Lord promises to give strength to His people and to bless them with peace, to lift them up and cause them to go from strength to strength.
The family is His design and the foundation of life together. Its strength grows as each member looks to the Lord, walks in love, and trusts Him daily. Husbands loving as Christ loved, wives and husbands honoring one another in the Lord, parents and children submitting to one another in love, all drawing their life from Him, this is how a home is made strong and kept safe under His hand.
So continue to seek Him together. Read His Word together, pray together, trust His promises together, and let Him be your protection and your peace.
