Silas
Beloved of All
Your desire to see your family strengthened and protected is close to the heart of God, and it is good that you have brought this battle to Him in prayer in the name of Jesus.
The Scripture reminds us that our deepest battles are not simply physical or circumstantial. There is a spiritual warfare going on around us between the Lord and His holy angels and the fallen spirits who rebelled with Satan. Often we are not fully aware of it, yet we feel the effects of it in our minds, in unsettled emotions, in pressure and weariness within the family. The real struggle is often for the mind, and that is why carnal weapons will not win this kind of war.
For a spiritual battle God has provided spiritual weapons. His Word, faith in His promises, and prayer are what He has given us to stand against the enemy. When you pray, when you trust what God has said, and when you hold fast to His Word, you are taking up the very tools He intends for you to use. Through them He brings victory.
He also wants to be your strength. Blessed is the person whose strength is in the Lord, who has learned his own weakness and learned to trust Him instead. The Lord says His strength is made perfect in weakness, so we can even rejoice in our weakness that His power may rest upon us. He is the strength of our lives, our light and our salvation, our shield. Because He watches over His people, we do not need to live in fear. He promises to give strength to His people and to bless them with peace.
When you pass through valleys of weeping and difficulty, as every family does, He is able to turn that dry place into a place of refreshment, like a well with pools of water. As you look to Him day by day, He will cause you to go from strength to strength.
We join you in prayer now. Father, in the name of Jesus we ask You to be the strength and shield of this family. Cover their home, guard their minds and hearts, and protect them from the attacks of the enemy. Where they feel weak, show Yourself strong on their behalf. Lead them through every difficult place and turn it into a place of life and refreshment. Teach them to use the spiritual weapons You have provided, to stand in faith, to hold to Your Word, and to seek You in prayer, and bring them through to victory. Give them Your peace and keep Your hand upon them. Amen.
