Beloved of All
Your heart for your children and for the unity of your home comes through so clearly in this prayer, and the Lord hears the cries of a parent who brings her family before Him. It is right to plead the blood of Jesus over your household and to ask for His peace that surpasses all understanding to guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, and for His hedge of protection and the covering of His armor over each room of your home and each step your family takes.
I join you in praying that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, for greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. I pray the Lord will frustrate every scheme to divide, isolate, exhaust and bring jealousy or chaos into your family, and that He will expose and turn back every plan rooted in manipulation, control and pride. The Lord fights for you, and He knows how to deliver the righteous even when they are vexed by the ungodly manner of life around them, as He delivered Lot. He is able to keep you and your children in perfect peace as you keep your trust in Him.
For your older daughter, I pray with you for clear eyes and a soft heart. Scripture teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that living together outside of that covenant is not marriage and does not carry its blessing or protection. It often opens the door to deception, financial hardship, spiritual bondage and the heavy burden of responsibilities that God never intended her to carry alone. I pray that God will gently remove the false sense of obligation that has been placed on her, and that she will see that this young man is not her husband, not her father, not her God and not the one to direct her faith or finances. I pray the Lord will break every hold of stubbornness, brainwashing and ungodly influence, and that He will call her back to Himself and to the family He has given her, just as He called Jacob to return to the land of his fathers and to his family with the promise that He would be with him. He is still the God who meets us at our place of commitment and calls us back to the place of faith and family. May she remember she is a child of the Most High, not homeless and not in need of another family's approval to have worth, and may she return to the church family where she was raised in the ways of the Lord, with freedom and restored joy rather than regret.
I pray also that the overreach of this young man's mother would be restrained. She has no parental authority in your daughter's life to direct her to live together before marriage or to have children outside of marriage, and her counsel is contrary to Scripture. I pray the Lord will block that ungodly influence, reveal its motives, and teach your daughter to no longer seek that approval or obey that voice above the voice of God and the loving guidance of her own family. I pray the father of this young man would step in with wisdom and direct his son to take responsibility for his own life apart from your daughter.
For your daughter's work and travel, I pray for safety on her flights there and back, for focus on the purpose God has given her in her job, and for protection over her workplace from jealousy and disruption. Thank God with you for the promotion He has granted her, and I pray she will see it as evidence of His provision and calling on her life, and not trade it for a relationship that diminishes her.
For your younger daughter, I pray she will remain steadfast in faith and not be swayed by the example she has seen. May the Lord surround her with godly friendships and mentors who encourage her to honor Him, and may she hold fast to the truth that she should not be unequally yoked but should seek a spouse who loves Christ and honors the covenant of marriage.
For your son, I thank God that he is fearfully and wonderfully made, deeply loved and never a burden. I rebuke every word of hatred, mockery and exclusion spoken against him. I pray the Lord will saturate him with peace and joy, grant him patience and growing ability to express his needs in a godly manner, and restore the sweet fellowship he once shared with his sister. I pray He will anoint your home and let your son always feel loved, included and protected, and that he will be a light wherever he goes. I ask God to grant you, your caregivers, doctors and care team wisdom to bring out the best in him each day.
For you, I pray for renewed strength, wisdom and discernment. The enemy seeks to wear you down with worry and fear, but God promises to supply all your needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus and to guard your heart with His peace. I pray for financial provision not for selfish gain but so your home may be a testimony of His care and a blessing to others. I pray also as you did for godly spouses for your daughters, men who will love them as Christ loves the church and lead them in righteousness.
Above all, I pray you will know Jesus as your true kinsman redeemer, the One who covers His people with His own covering, who buys back what has been lost and keeps the inheritance within the family of God. He is mighty to restore what has been torn, to heal what has been wounded, and to bring back what has been scattered. May He fill you all with the Holy Spirit, remove darkness from your path, and let your family be a beacon of His light in all you do, for His glory. In the mighty name of Jesus our Savior and Redeemer, Amen.
