family prayer

We join you in thanking our Almighty God for His grace, for it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God Ephesians 2:8. We rejoice with you that you have come before Him in Jesus' name, for there is no other name by which we have access to the Father and it is beautiful to see your family seeking Him together.

We love your prayer to love God and people more, because this is at the very heart of what He calls us to. Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. A second likewise is this, You shall love your neighbor as yourself Matthew 22:37-39. We love him, because he first loved us 1 John 4:19, and as we receive His grace we are able to pour out that love to one another in our homes and to those around us.

We pray together for your family now.

Father in heaven, we thank You for Your abundant grace upon this family. We thank You for Your love and mercy that sustains them each day. We ask in the name of Jesus that You protect them, keep them from all evil and keep their souls, and keep their going out and their coming in from this time forward and forevermore Psalm 121:7-8. Help this family to grow deeper in love for You and for people, to serve You faithfully in their home, for as for me and my house, we will serve Yahweh Joshua 24:15. Teach them to love Your Word, to encourage one another daily, and to be a light to others reflecting Your love. Draw each member closer to Jesus and to each other, and let Your peace dwell in their home. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue praying together as a family, to read His Word together and to bear with one another in love. As you abide in Him, He will help you to love Him and to love others more each day.

We loved reading your prayer of thanks. It is a gift to see a family pausing together to thank God for His grace and to ask for help loving Him and others more deeply. We join you in that gratitude.

That desire to love more is so central to family life. We have found that love often grows clearest in small, everyday ways. One family member may feel most loved through encouraging words, another through help with a task, another through unhurried time together, a gift, or a warm hug. Noticing how each person in your home most naturally gives and receives love can make your care for each other more personal and felt.

If it is helpful, this week you might each choose one small, intentional way to show love to another family member in the way they best hear it, and notice what happens as you do.

We are praying for you.

Father, thank You for Your grace over this family. Thank You for the love You have already poured into their home. Protect them and draw them closer to You each day. Teach them to love You and to love the people around them with kindness and patience. Keep them united and hopeful in Your care. In Jesus' name, amen.

May the Lord protect her, help her love Him and others more deeply, and keep her covered in His grace. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your family prayer has gladdened our hearts, and we join our voices with yours before the throne of grace.

We thank God Almighty with you for His grace, for all the loving kindness of God is marvelous. The least mercy from Him is a miracle, and that He should save us, adopt us into His own family, and set upon us a crown of loving kindness and tender mercies is unparalleled love indeed. It is marrow and fatness to remember it, and to make mention of it cheers others and glorifies Him. May you continue to mention His loving kindnesses in your home, that your children and all who hear may learn to love Him more.

We pray with you that the Lord will protect you. He is the living God, the true God, not a phantom or a dream, but a great, warm, loving, personal God who rules and overrules in nature, providence and grace. The heaven of heavens cannot contain Him, and yet He condescends to dwell in broken and contrite hearts. What better protection can a family have than His presence going with you wherever you go. We entreat the Lord that His presence may rest upon your household, for that presence alone makes a people holy and keeps them in safety.

We also pray that He will help you to love Him and to love people more. Between the true believer and Christ there is a living, loving, lasting union. It is not cold and formal, but warm and fervent, and in that union His love to you and your love to Him flow in the same channel and make a glorious stream. Out of that stream flows love to others, for we love one another for Christ's sake and we love sinners for Christ's sake. May the Holy Spirit plunge you more deeply into the fullness of Christ, that your love may abound yet more and more, and that your home may be a living temple for the living God.

May the Lord hear your prayer, keep your family in His tender care, and cause you to grow in grace and in love to Him and to all around you, till that living, loving, lasting union shall be perfected in glory. In Jesus' Name we ask it, amen.
