family prayer

We join you in bringing your family before the Lord and we thank you for calling upon the name of Jesus, for it is through Him alone that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that our prayers are heard.

We are encouraged by your desire for God's protection over your household and for Him to hear even the silent requests of your heart that are too deep for words. Scripture reminds us that our Father knows what we need before we ask Him in Matthew 6:8 and that the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings which cannot be uttered in Romans 8:26. You can rest assured that nothing in your heart is hidden from Him and He hears every unspoken burden with perfect understanding and love.

We take comfort in His promises of protection over those who trust in Him. Psalm 91:1 says He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. And Psalm 121:7-8 tells us Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forevermore. We also cling to Philippians 4:6-7 which says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus and we lift up this family to You. We ask for Your hand of protection to be upon each member, to keep them from harm, to guard their hearts and minds, and to surround their home with Your presence and Your angels as You have promised in Psalm 91:11. We ask You to meet every silent request that has been lifted before You. You know each need, each worry, each hope that has not been spoken aloud, and we trust You to answer according to Your perfect will and Your perfect love. Grant this family Your peace that surpasses understanding, strengthen their faith, and draw them ever closer to You and to one another. Keep them walking in Your ways and help them to cast all their worries on You because You care for them in 1 Peter 5:7. We thank You that You are our refuge and our shield. We entrust this family into Your faithful care, in Jesus name, amen.

We are grateful you brought your family before the Lord and asked for His protection. Those few words carry a lot of love and trust, and we are honored to stand with you in them.

We hear that there are silent requests on your heart as well. You do not need to find perfect words for them. The Lord knows each one, even the ones that feel too tender or complicated to speak out loud, and He invites you to keep bringing them to Him just as you have.

One simple thing that often helps in seasons like this is to keep a short, steady rhythm of prayer for your household, even a brief moment together or individually at the start or close of the day, entrusting each person and each unspoken burden to His care again. If it helps, you might jot those silent requests down privately and pray over them as the Lord brings them to mind, trusting Him to carry what you cannot carry alone. We are praying with you for continued safety, unity and quiet confidence in His care over your home.

Father, we lift this family to You. Cover them with Your protection and peace, keep them close to You, and meet each silent request according to Your wisdom and mercy. Give them rest in knowing You hear and You are near. In Jesus' name, amen.

Father please grant silent request, Your protection, deliverance from evil (Mt 6:13; 2Thessalonians 3:2-3) Please grant all family needs spiritual, emotional, physical, and financial be met through Your riches in glory. Thank and Praise You in Advance in Jesus Name Amen.

We have heard your brief petition for your family and we count it a great honor to bear it with you before the throne of grace. To pray for those of our own household is no small thing, for intercessory prayer is among the sweetest prayers God ever hears, and when He gives grace to one it is with design that it may be used for the rest of the family. What an honor it is to be permitted to plead for those nearest to us, and we would not sin against the Lord by ceasing to pray for you.

You have asked for protection and you have added silent requests. Be assured that though they are silent to us they are not silent to Him who knows the heart. Yet we would encourage you, as you come again, to spread your case before Him with holy argument, pleading His own Word. Our prayers are not meant to change His will but to remind our heavenly Father of His promises and to ask Him to remember His Word unto His servant by fulfilling it. Come therefore in humility of spirit, not with self conceit, but as Jacob did, wrestling and pleading, and also with perseverance, for mighty prayer will yet prevail if it has but time.

Let us pray together for you now.

O Father, keep this family and keep them from evil. Thou hast promised to be a wall of fire round about Thy people, and to keep the feet of Thy saints. We ask Thee to fulfill that Word unto Thy servants. Quicken them in Thy way, quicken them in private prayer and in family devotion, and let not prayer be restrained before Thee. Guard their home, guard their bodies and souls, and hear those silent burdens which they have laid before Thee without words. Thou knowest every need, every fear, every hope unspoken. Answer not always as we expect, but as Thy wisdom and love sees best, and give grace that they may receive Thy answer with faith. Bring each one in that household to know salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved, and build them up in love and holiness. In the name of Jesus Christ our only Mediator we ask it, amen.

We exhort you to continue with one accord in prayer and supplication. Do not give up the closet nor the family altar, but bring every want to Him who hears, and may the Lord hear your cry both in the daytime and at night.
