Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart and allowing us to pray with you and your family. We have lifted your requests before the Lord and we continue to hold you up in prayer.
We prayed that God would surround you with His presence in your home and that you would know His protection and deliverance. Scripture promises that He will keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him, because that person trusts in Him. Jesus said to His disciples, my peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you. That is not just peace with God, when the war is over and you are no longer running from Him or fighting against Him, but also the peace of God that guards your heart when you keep your eyes on Him. We asked that the Lord would ordain peace for you and your household, because He desires for you to live in that quiet rest.
We also prayed against fear and anxiety. When the storm rose and the disciples were afraid, Jesus stood and said, peace, be still, and the wind ceased and there was a great calm. He is the same Lord over the storms that trouble your mind and your home. We asked Him to speak that calm over you, so that fear loses its grip and you can feel safe and secure. Like a shepherd who lies in the opening of the fold, He Himself is your protection. Nothing can reach you without passing Him.
We prayed for deep, quiet rest at night. The Lord is the one who gives sleep to His beloved and quiets the heart so it can rest. We asked Him to still every anxious thought in the evening and grant you a peaceful and refreshing sleep, and to wake you with encouragement and renewed strength.
We prayed too for healing, for the Lord says peace to those far off and to those near, I will heal him. When you turn to Jesus and receive His forgiveness, He brings healing and restoration and a beautiful, deep peace within. There is no peace for those who remain in rebellion against Him, but for those who belong to Christ the war is over and His healing brings wholeness. We asked Him to touch each of you and each of your relationships with that healing, to mend what is broken and to draw you closer to Him and to one another. May His presence bring Shalom to you, to your house, and to all that you have.
May you sense today that you belong to Him and that His peace which passes all understanding is keeping your minds and hearts in Christ Jesus.
