We join with you in lifting you and your whole family before our Heavenly Father, and we are thankful you have invited us to stand with you in prayer. We understand the deep need for God's presence to fill your home, to drive out fear and anxiety, and to bring true peace, safety, rest, and healing to every relationship under your roof.
The Word reminds us that fear and anxiety are not from the Lord, for God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7. We are told, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. That peace is what we ask God to pour out upon your home right now, not as the world gives, but as Jesus gives, for He said, Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful. John 14:27.
We also pray for your sense of safety and for quiet, restful sleep. The psalmist declares, In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety. Psalm 4:8. And again, He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust. Psalm 91:1-2. We ask the Lord to make your home that secret place where His presence dwells continually, where you can rest securely under His shadow and know that He is your refuge. He promises, Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10.
For your relationships we pray for healing and unity in Christ. God desires that we walk in love and forgiveness with one another. We are called to be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32. And above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection. Colossians 3:14. Where there has been hurt or distance, we pray He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3. May He bring encouragement to each of you and knit your hearts together in love and understanding.
We do want to gently share something important we noticed, as your request speaks of lifting this to God without mentioning Jesus. We want you to know that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name that our prayers are heard. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. And we are told, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is by placing our faith in Jesus, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are reconciled to God and can boldly come into His presence. If you have not already, we encourage you to call upon the name of Jesus and trust Him as Lord and Savior, for in Him we find the very peace, safety, and healing you are seeking.
So together we pray.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You and lift up this dear family to Your throne of grace. Surround them completely with Your holy presence, let Your glory fill every room of their home, and let every spirit of fear and anxiety release its grip now. Fill them with Your power, love, and self-control. Let them feel safe and protected, knowing You are their refuge and fortress. Grant them a deep and abiding sense of peace and quiet, and give them peaceful and good sleep night after night as they rest in Your care. Bring Your healing to every heart, encourage each one, and mend what is broken in their relationships. Teach them to bear with one another, to forgive as You have forgiven them, and to walk in love. Draw each member of this family closer to You through Jesus, and closer to one another. We ask all of this according to Your will and in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior. Amen.
