We lift up this precious family member before the throne of grace, grieving over the years of struggle with a lifestyle that does not align with God’s holy design. The Word of God warns us in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, "Don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom." Yet we also know that in verse 11, it says, "Such were some of you, but you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God." This is the hope we cling to, transformation is possible through the power of Christ!

We pray that the Holy Spirit would convict this beloved one of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8), leading them to repentance and a surrendered heart.
Father, we ask that You would surround this family member with godly influences, believers who will speak truth in love, pray fervently, and model the life found in Christ. Remove any relationships or environments that pull them deeper into sin, and replace them with Your peace and purpose. Give them a hunger for Your Word and a desire to walk in obedience to You. We pray for divine encounters, dreams, visions, or circumstances that will open their eyes to Your love and the freedom found in You.
We also lift up the family who is interceding for this loved one. Strengthen them in their faith, Lord. Help them to love unconditionally while standing firm on Your truth. Give them wisdom in how to respond, whether with gentle correction or patient endurance. Protect their hearts from discouragement, and fill them with hope as they trust in Your timing.
Lord, we declare that this situation will work out for the best, not according to the world’s standards, but according to Your perfect will. We trust that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28) and that Your plans for this life are plans for peace and not harm, to give a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). May this family member come to know You intimately, surrender fully, and walk in the abundant life You offer.

Many a weary heart has carried such a burden as yours, and the Lord has heard the cry of those who plead for wandering ones. We join with you in prayer that His hand would be seen in this very case.
A soul trying for many years to make a flawed way work is like a spider spinning its own web, how soon it is blown away. That web comes from the spider’s own bowels, and the world’s wisdom is just as frail. No man can absolutely direct his own steps; the gracious man feels he must have a divine guide as much as the youngest babe in the family of God. You long for things to “work out for the best,” and so do we, but let us be clear: the best must be measured by the plumb line of God’s Word, not by the comfort of a lifestyle that stands contrary to His commands. The Divine Architect displays His own perfections not by propping up a house built on sand, but by bringing the soul to build on the Rock.
That hard path your loved one walks, it will prove as brown as March dust unless grace waters it. Yet despair of no one so long as you have a heart to pray. Have you not read of Peter? In one desperate hour he fell so low he even cursed and denied his Lord. But Christ had prayed for him, and that prayer wrought a look that no words can limn. Immutable love is the divine hammer that breaks the rock in pieces. That look was invisible to all but the receiver, and it restored Peter’s soul in a moment. The same Saviour, with healing in His wings, can turn your family member’s heart back from the far country.
Do not think that chasing after sin’s satisfaction will ever yield true peace. The soul seeks sap and nourishment from itself and finds only dust. They need, as all of us needed, the divine interposition, the hand that reaches down when we sink and have no will to be saved. “He took me”, do you remember that grasp? Well do I recollect mine. The Spirit wrought all my works in me, and here I sit today delivered from death and tears and falling. That same Spirit can break the hardest heart and plant it in the family of God, making a low tree to be exalted in due season.
Therefore, let your prayers be bold, pleading the precious blood. Ask not that the Lord would bless a crooked path, but that He would so shine upon it that its twists would become loathsome to the traveler. Pray that divine convictions would come, not in terror only, but in tender mercy, until they cry out with David, “I have sinned against the Lord.” And when they do, point them to the One who took the place of murderers and liars and self-righteous souls upon the tree. The Lord restores; it is His delight. He is the same conquering Lord who wounded the dragon, and He can conquer the evil that has held your loved one captive.
We lay this matter before the throne of grace with you, asking that all things, even this lengthy wandering, might be made to serve a holy end, the eternal good of their soul and the glory of His Name. Keep your own heart warm with faith; remember that divine grace is not a noisy thing, and its working is often hidden. Wait upon the Lord, who does wonders in the thick darkness.

Do not envy those who seem to thrive in it; rather weep for them, for they travel toward tribulation without realizing it. The devil never despairs of our ruin, so we must never surrender the hope of another’s salvation.
Turn your prayers not toward making a bad life comfortable, but toward deliverance from it. Plead with boldness, like that woman who pressed through the crowd to touch Christ’s garment. She did not doubt; she knew that even to touch Him meant healing. So approach Him for your relative, begging not that their worldly arrangements hold together, but that their soul be snatched from the deceiver’s grip. Ask that they might obtain a better resurrection, not settling for a fleeting peace built on sand.
Remember that we are all wounded, and the medicine of almsgiving, prayer, and a life turned toward God is available. Do not cease to attend to these wounds, yours and theirs, through earnest intercession. Entrust them to the Lord who alone can transform what is broken, and have hope: for Christ came to bring us from the curse to sonship, and no one who repents is cast out. Pray, then, that they come to hate the darkness and long for the light, and that all things work together for their eternal good, not merely a temporary settlement of earthly affairs. Amen.

You have been carrying this burden for many years, watching someone you love walk a path that troubles your spirit. When the years stretch on and nothing seems to change, it is easy to feel that your prayers have gone unheard or that the situation is beyond hope. The scriptures are filled with stories that remind us God often works across long stretches of time. Jeremiah declared God’s word for twenty-three years before the people were taken into captivity, and then the exile itself lasted seventy years. Daniel, reading those prophecies, understood the appointed time was finally drawing near and began to pray with fresh urgency. Delays are not denials. The Lord is weaving something in those hidden years that we cannot see yet.
I am reminded how Joseph named his sons in a way that marked both his suffering and God’s faithfulness, one name speaking of forgetting the toil, the other of fruitfulness in the land of his affliction. Every time he called his children, he rehearsed that God had not wasted a single hard year. The present lifestyle of your family member may look barren, but the story is not finished. What feels like a long famine can, in God’s timing, give way to a season of unexpected abundance. Do not lose heart. Keep bringing this person before the throne of grace, trusting that the same Lord who sustained Joseph through prison and lifted him up in a single day is able to turn things around.
Remember also that when one member of the body suffers, the whole body feels the pain. You are not praying alone; you are joined to a family of faith that aches with you and lifts up your loved one before the Father. The very fact you are still praying after all this time is evidence of God’s own love at work in you. In the days ahead, whether you see a swift change or a gradual one, hold fast to the truth that the years of struggle are not wasted.
