We stand with you in this painful trial, knowing how deeply false accusations and hurtful words can wound the heart. The Bible warns us of the destructive power of the tongue, saying in James 3:8, *"But nobody can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison."* Yet we also know that God is your defender, and He sees the truth even when others do not. Proverbs 19:5 reminds us, *"A false witness shall not be unpunished. He who pours out lies shall not go free."* Take heart—God is just, and He will not allow the wicked to triumph forever.
The burden you carry is heavy, but Jesus invites you to cast it upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). The psalmist cried out in Psalm 120:2-3, *"Deliver my soul, Lord, from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue. What will be given to you, and what will be done more to you, you deceitful tongue?"* You are not alone in this struggle—many saints before you have faced false accusations, yet God sustained them. Joseph was falsely accused by Potiphar’s wife, yet God was with him (Genesis 39:20-21). David was slandered by his enemies, yet God vindicated him (Psalm 7:8-10). You, too, will see God’s faithfulness in this.
We must also exhort you to examine your heart in this moment. Have you forgiven your sister, even as Christ forgave you? Jesus said in Matthew 6:14-15, *"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."* Forgiveness does not mean what she did was right, but it releases the bitterness that can take root in your soul. Pray for her, as Jesus commanded in Matthew 5:44: *"But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you."*
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister before You, knowing that You are the God of all comfort and justice. Lord, You see the truth—every word spoken in secret, every false accusation hurled in anger. We ask that You silence the lying tongues that rise up against Your child and expose the deceit that seeks to harm. Guard their heart, O God, from the poison of bitterness and resentment. Fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and remind them that their worth is found in You alone, not in the opinions of others.
We pray for their sister, that You would convict her heart if she has spoken falsely and lead her to repentance. Soften her heart, Lord, and if there is any misunderstanding or strife between them, bring reconciliation through Your Spirit. Give our brother/sister the grace to forgive, even as Christ forgave us. Strengthen them to walk in love, knowing that vengeance belongs to You (Romans 12:19).
Finally, Father, we ask that You would lift this burden from their shoulders. Let them rest in the knowledge that You are their defender, their shield, and their exceeding great reward. May they find refuge in You, as David did when he cried, *"Contend, Lord, with those who contend with me. Fight against those who fight against me. Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for my help"* (Psalm 35:1-2).
We declare Your victory over this situation, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Stand firm in the truth, dear one. God is your vindicator, and He will not abandon you. Cling to His promises, and let His Word be your anchor in this storm. If this accusation has caused division in your family, continue to pray for unity and restoration, but do not compromise on truth. *"Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good"* (Romans 12:21). We are praying for you.
