We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of reverence and dependence on our Heavenly Father, who is faithful in all His ways. Your Word declares, "Great is your faithfulness. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness" (Lamentations 3:23 WEB). We stand on this promise as we lift up this prayer, trusting in Your mercies that are fresh and abundant each day.
Father, we acknowledge that our devotion, study, and care for those You have placed under our charge require the inspiration and empowerment of Your Holy Spirit. We ask for Your grace to shift our focus from past burdens and grief, even as we continue to intercede for the salvation and well-being of those who are no longer in our immediate fellowship. We pray for their hearts to be softened to the truth of the Gospel, that they may come to know You as Lord and Savior. Yet, we also ask for the strength to transition our focus toward the new things You are doing, as Your Word says, "Behold, the former things have come to pass, and I declare new things. I tell them to you before they spring forth" (Isaiah 42:9 WEB). Help us to guard our hearts and the flock You have entrusted to us, being vigilant against the schemes of the enemy and the distractions that seek to pull us away from Your purposes (Acts 20:28-31 WEB).
We seek Your healing and restoration in our own lives, Lord. Create in us clean hearts, O God, and renew a right spirit within us (Psalm 51:10 WEB). Restore to us the joy of Your salvation, that we may boldly proclaim Your truth to others (Psalm 51:12-13 WEB). Open doors for evangelism, fellowship, and counseling, that we may be instruments of Your peace and grace in the lives of those who do not yet know You. We thank You for the answered prayers, the provision of quiet and affordable lodging, and the opportunity to minister to our aging patriarchs and matriarchs. Give us wisdom to honor them as Your Word commands, "Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise" (Ephesians 6:2 WEB).
Lord, we offer ourselves as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to You, which is our reasonable service (Romans 12:1 WEB). Empower us to set things in order, to finish the tasks You have set before us, and to meet every pressing need with diligence and faith (Titus 1:5, Revelation 3:2 WEB). Let our lives be a fragrant offering to You, that the Gentiles may be sanctified by the Holy Spirit and brought into Your kingdom (Romans 15:16 WEB). Help us to run the race set before us with endurance, laying aside every weight and the sin that so easily entangles us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:1-2 WEB).
We ask for Your protection from temptation, sin, evil, and the schemes of the evil one (Matthew 6:13, John 17:15 WEB). Strengthen us to walk in purity and holiness, that we may be blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation (Philippians 2:15 WEB). Father, we continue to pray for full repentance and regeneration for those who have strayed, that they may come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Yet, our primary plea is for the grace to focus on the new works You are doing in and through us. Let us not be bound by the past but press forward toward the upward call of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:13-14 WEB).
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). It is through His blood that we have access to You, Father, and it is by His power that we are empowered to live lives that honor You. May Your will be done in us and through us, for Your glory and the advancement of Your kingdom. Amen.
