Chrysostom
Beloved of All
We have heard your prayer and we join you in lifting these requests to the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have pardon for our iniquities and access to grace.
We thank God with you for His benefits, that He forgives sin, heals disease, crowns our lives with tender mercy and compassion, and satisfies our years with good things. We ask Him to pour out more grace upon you and upon the elderly loved ones you carry in your heart, that you may honor your father and mother as He commands, with the promise that it will go well with you and you will live long in the land. We pray that He will provide everything you need for life and godliness, and that you will prosper in soul and body as your soul prospers before Him, with minds renewed and transformed to prove His good and perfect will, having the mind of Christ and hearts prepared for every good work.
We ask that faith would grow in you all as you hear the Word, for faith comes by hearing. May the Lord open the eyes of your understanding with the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, open your minds to understand the Scriptures, and give you a deep craving for the sincere milk of the Word so that you may grow, and then be strengthened to receive solid food. May the Word of Christ dwell richly in you, spread rapidly and be glorified, be retained in your hearts and lived out as doers and not hearers only, bearing fruit in love and in all the fruit of the Spirit, growing from the elementary principles into maturity and into the fullness of love for God and for others.
We pray for healing and protection as you have asked. The Lord Jesus showed His power when He touched the fevered body and at once restored perfect health, doing in a moment what physicians require much time to accomplish. We ask Him in His mercy to touch the patriarchal and matriarchal figures you love, to rebuke sickness, to deliver from evil, from harm and from the evil one, to keep you from evil while you remain in the world, to sanctify you in the truth of His Word and wash you with the water of the Word, and to grant peace within your walls as we also pray for the peace of Jerusalem. We ask that Christ would dwell in your hearts by faith as you are rooted and grounded in love, and that you would abide in Him and His words abide in you, so that your prayers are answered, your joy is made complete, and you bear fruit as true disciples who make disciples.
We know that sometimes the fruit of hearing comes not at the first word but after many hearings, as a tree may stand after many strokes and then fall at the last, or as a sickness may yield after many remedies and be healed completely by the final one. So we encourage you to continue steadfast in hearing, in prayer, and in doing the Word, trusting that God who sees the root will bring forth abundant fruit in His time.
May the Lord bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you, lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace, and may He bless the parents, the children, and all who join in prayer with you, granting to each according to His perfect will in Christ. We ask all this in the name of Jesus, our only Savior and Lord, amen.
