Beloved of All
We have received your prayer with thanksgiving and we join you in blessing the Lord who pardons our iniquities, heals our diseases, and crowns our lives with tender mercy and compassion according to Psalm 103.
Your desire to honor your patriarchal and matriarchal figures is good and pleasing to God, for this is the first commandment with promise, that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land as Ephesians 6 teaches. We pray that God will give you grace, for He gives grace to the humble, and that He will powerfully provide for these elderly loved ones everything they need for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him as 2 Peter 1 says.
We ask with you for faith that comes from hearing the Word, for without faith it is impossible to please Him as Hebrews 11 teaches, and for health and prosperity even as their souls prosper as John prays in 3 John 1. We ask that you all may be transformed by the renewing of your minds, that you may prove what is the good and acceptable will of God, and that you may have the mind of Christ, rooted and grounded in love so that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith.
As the patriarch Abraham shows us, faith was counted to him before the Law was given, and he is an example not of trusting in ancestry but of trusting God through faith and patience to inherit the promises. So we pray that these loved ones and you yourselves will follow that same path, not resting on any other ground but holding fast to faith in Christ alone, growing from the sincere milk of the Word to solid food, letting the Word of Christ dwell in you richly, retaining it in your hearts and becoming doers of the Word and not hearers only.
We join you in asking for present healing, for the Lord is the one who heals us as Exodus 15 declares, and we pray as you prayed that He would rebuke sickness and restrain evil, deliver you from the evil one, keep you from evil people, and sanctify you in the truth of His Word. We ask that He would open the eyes of your understanding with the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, open your minds to understand the Scriptures, and grant you fresh delight in His truth day after day, that you may abide in Christ and His words abide in you, bear fruit, make disciples, and know the joy of answered prayer.
We pray for peace within their walls and for strength in body and soul, for emotional and temporal support, for fruitfulness, and above all that you all may grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, be established in the elementary principles and go on to maturity, culminating in love and the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
May the Lord bless you and keep you, make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you, lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace according to Numbers 6, and may He grant these petitions according to His will in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and access to the Father.
