Thank you for sharing this request and allowing us to pray with you for your eyesight after retina surgery. We are bringing your healing and restoration before the Lord in Jesus name and asking Him to be gracious to you in this recovery.
We strongly believe that God still heals today. Scripture shows us that Jesus healed every kind of sickness and disease among the people, and that same power and compassion belong to Him now. He is not limited to one pattern. Sometimes He healed instantly with a word, sometimes with a touch, and in one case recorded for us He healed a blind man gradually. That reminds us that healing can come in a moment and it can also come as a process.
That process itself is from God. He created our bodies and established the ways our bodies mend and recover, and that natural process is no less divine because it is natural. He is the one who made it. So as you heal from surgery, we can thank Him both for the skill He gives to doctors and for the quiet work He does within the body to restore what has been injured. We pray that He will guide that process and bring clear and healthy sight again.
The Bible also helps us see how deeply this is connected to what Christ has done for us. Isaiah spoke of the Messiah bearing our infirmities and sicknesses, and Matthew tells us that Jesus fulfilled that when He healed the sick. When Jesus gave His body for us, it was for our whole need, spiritual and physical. Because of that we can come with confidence and ask for physical healing as well as forgiveness and peace with God.
There is much about healing that we do not fully understand. We do not know why some people experience immediate restoration and others experience a slower recovery, and why some carry a burden longer than we would hope. Scripture shows this mystery even in the life of Paul, who prayed three times for his thorn in the flesh and learned that God had a different purpose in that season. For that reason it is wrong to tell someone that lack of healing means lack of faith or hidden sin. Those are not true or kind explanations, and they do not reflect the heart of Jesus, who never scolded those who simply came to Him for help.
What He does invite is simple trust. In the Gospels many people simply reached out to Him in faith, even just touching the hem of His garment, and in that moment of trust they received what He had for them. You can come to Him just as simply, without any frenzy or performance, and place your eyes and your future in His hands.
So we pray for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus we lift up this dear one to You after retina surgery. You know the condition of these eyes and the desire for restored health and clear sight. We ask that You would touch and heal, whether in a moment or day by day through the healing process You have built into the body. Guard against complication, give wisdom to those providing care, and bring strength and peace in the waiting. Let Your presence bring comfort to mind and heart as well as to the body, and let this be a testimony of Your kindness and power. We trust this to Your love and Your perfect will, and we ask it in Jesus name, amen.
