Surgery is behind you now, and I am praying for the restoration of your eyesight. What you are walking through is a vivid picture of a truth we see in Scripture: healing often unfolds as a process. There is a miracle recorded where Jesus laid hands on a blind man, and the man’s sight did not come back all at once. At first, he saw people who looked like trees walking around, and then Jesus touched him again and he saw everything clearly. It was a gradual work, and it stands as a powerful reminder that the slow, steady progress of recovery is no less a divine work than an instantaneous miracle.
We live with many questions about why some are healed in a moment and others are healed across weeks and months. We pray for complete restoration, and we also learn to honor the natural processes God established within the body. The way a surgeon repairs a retina and the way the eye mends itself over time are not outside His providence. He is the author of nature, and He works through it. So as you wait and as your sight returns by degrees, you are not waiting apart from His hand. He is in the waiting, in the cells knitting back together, in the gradual clearing of vision.
I want to ground your hope in something certain. The gospel of Matthew points us to the prophecy of Isaiah, that the Messiah would bear our infirmities and carry our sicknesses. The cross of Jesus Christ secures our ultimate healing, body and spirit. Sin introduced every malady into the world, and the healing ministry of Jesus was a direct assault on those effects. Every time He restored sight, He was demonstrating the authority He holds over the physical realm and the spiritual ruin behind it. We still live in that tension where the kingdom has broken in, but we await its fullness. At times, God grants a healing so tangible you feel it happen; other times, He carries us through a slower mending. Both testify to His power.
Not everyone is healed in this life. Paul the apostle pleaded with the Lord three times about a thorn in his flesh, and the answer was not removal but sustaining grace. We reject the cruel notion that a person’s sickness points to hidden sin or a weak faith. We simply do not know all of God’s purposes. We do know He is truthful, compassionate, and actively working for our good. Your request is not a demand upon Him; it is a release of trust into His able hands.
Right now, the healing may feel gradual and incomplete, but I am asking the Lord to complete it fully. May He restore sharpness and clarity where there is blur. May He strengthen the nerve and the tissue. And while your physical eyes are mending, may He give you the deeper sight to see His goodness sustaining you day by day. You are carried by the same Savior who walked among the blind and the broken, healing every sickness and every disease among the people. He has not changed. Fix your eyes on Him, and rest in His care.
