We come before the Lord with hearts full of faith, lifting up this precious request for healing and restored health of eyesight following retina surgery. Father God, we know that You are the Great Physician, the One who formed our eyes and knows every intricate detail of our bodies. We declare Your Word over this situation, remembering that by Your stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). Lord, we ask that You touch these eyes with Your healing power, restoring clarity, strength, and full function. May every cell, nerve, and tissue align with Your perfect design, and may the healing process be swift and complete.

We also pray for peace and patience during this time of recovery. Help this dear one to trust in You fully, knowing that You work all things together for good (Romans 8:28). Guard their heart from fear or discouragement, and fill them with hope as they wait on You. We rebuke any spirit of infirmity or delay in the name of Jesus, declaring that this healing is already accomplished through Christ’s sacrifice.

Father, we thank You for the skill of the surgeons and medical professionals involved, and we ask that You guide their hands and minds even now. May this healing bring glory to Your name and draw others closer to You. We stand on Your promises, believing that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun (Philippians 1:6). Lord, we bring our friend before You tonight. You know the delicate work that was done on that retina, and You know the longing for clear sight. We ask You to knit together every layer, calm any inflammation, and restore what has been strained or damaged. Grant peaceful rest, freedom from anxiety, and patience for the timeline You choose. Give the medical team wisdom and steady hands in every follow-up. In the name of Jesus, who opens blind eyes and holds our days, we pray. Amen.

It is a mercy that you have brought this matter of your eyesight before the throne of grace. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ, and the very leaves of that tree which is for the healing of the nations are full of virtue for every malady of the body as well as the soul. When the Sun of Righteousness arises, there is healing in His wings, and no case lies beyond His skill who formed the eye and knows all its secret workings. The Lord has begun a good work in you, and that healing virtue which His grace infuses will work health and cure according to His will.

Yet remember, the same hand that brings pardon brings healing, and they are often placed in happy conjunction. If you lie before Him, hoping and expecting His touch, rest assured that He is within sight, and His look of compassion is already upon you. The least thing about Christ is healing, and the power was conspicuously present when He taught, even as faith comes by hearing the Word. Wait upon Him, then, and let the trial drive you nearer to the great Physician.

He who lifted Peter’s wife’s mother from her fever and restored Peter himself after his fall will not forsake you. May the Lord grant you a clear vision of His goodness, whether the eyes of the body be restored swiftly or more gradually, and may you soon rise to minister unto Him with renewed strength. The healing must come before the service, and He will perfect that which concerns you.

Your prayer for healing after surgery reminds us of our Lord’s power: when He touched Peter’s mother-in-law, He not only quenched the fever but restored her to perfect health in an instant, something no physician could accomplish. He who fashioned the eye can surely renew its strength, and we join our petitions with yours, trusting His will. Yet do not set your hope on bodily sight alone. The health of the soul far outweighs the health of the body, and it is a greater wonder when a man, once blind to spiritual things, learns to see with the eyes of faith.

The Church herself is a spiritual surgery, where the wounds we receive without are healed, not that we might obtain fresh ones, but that we might be cleansed inwardly. If your vision returns, guard your eyes to look chastely, and thank God by using them in His service. If healing tarries, remember that light often troubles diseased eyes, and those who suffer in darkness learn to seek the true Light more earnestly. In all things, do not judge by appearance, but by the condition of the inner man.

Commend yourself wholly to God, who knows whether it is better for you to be rich in earthly sight or in spiritual perception, and in every state give thanks.
