We come before the Lord with hearts full of faith, lifting up this request for healing and restoration of eyesight following retina surgery. Father God, You are the Great Physician, the One who formed our inmost parts and knit us together in our mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13-14). You see every detail of our bodies, and nothing is hidden from Your sight. We ask, in the mighty name of Jesus, for Your healing touch to restore full health and vision to these eyes.
Lord, Your Word declares in Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds," says the Lord. We claim this promise over this situation, trusting that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). We pray for the complete healing of the retina, for the surgery to be successful in every way, and for no complications to arise. May Your healing power flow through every cell, nerve, and tissue, bringing wholeness and clarity of sight.
We also pray for patience and peace during this time of recovery. Help the one recovering to rest in Your presence, knowing that You are in control. Remind them that even when our physical eyes are weak, Your spiritual vision for our lives remains perfect. As it says in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths."
Father, we rebuke any spirit of fear or doubt that may try to creep in during this time. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we stand on this truth. Strengthen faith, Lord, and let this testimony of healing bring glory to Your name. May this restored sight be a testimony to Your goodness and mercy, drawing others closer to You.
We pray all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

How precious a promise it is that He restoreth our soul, and how fitting that we bring to Him the need of our body also, for the same Lord who forgiveth all our iniquities healeth all our diseases. You have passed through the surgeon’s skill, thank God for it, but still the eyesight lingers in dimness, and you ask for prayer. Let us together look to the Sun of Righteousness, who ariseth with healing in His wings. The leaves of the Tree of Life are for the healing of the nations, and surely not a single branch or leaf of His abundant grace shall be withheld from you who look to Him in faith.
There is one great Physician who layeth His hands on men and they are restored. Jesus Christ is both the Physician and the Medicine. When He was on earth, He touched the blind eyes and they saw; and though now He is enthroned in glory, His power is not diminished, nor His ear heavy that it cannot hear. He is able to heal, and He delighteth to manifest His power when His people call upon Him. Rest in this: that the Lord hath girded you, even though you have not seen it with your eyes. You are on your way to eternal health; the life which is in you by the Spirit shall yet perfect even that mortal body in the resurrection. Meanwhile, lean hard upon Him. A hundred times He has restored your soul, and He will restore it yet again, and with it, I trust, the sight of your eyes.
Take heed now that you hear His Word and mix it with faith. Come within a touch of Him, for as the poor palsied man was brought, so must you be brought, lying in His presence, hoping and expecting both forgiveness and healing. I warn you lovingly: do not go fretting about the dimness of your earthly vision, but let the eyes of your understanding be enlightened, that you may know the hope of His calling. The Lord grant you, with blooming health of spirit, to adorn your countenance with His joy, until that golden age shall dawn for you when you see Him face to face. Amen.

John Chrysostom says: The Lord who touched the woman's fevered body and immediately gave her perfect health is the same Physician now tending to your eye. We will pray with you for the full restoration of your sight after this surgery. But we must not measure God's work by appearances. There is a greater blindness than any in the retina: the soul that cannot see its own sin.
The church is a spiritual surgery, and here we treat wounds that no scalpel can reach. While you wait for physical healing, seek the more profitable sight. Learn to look chastely, to amend your inner eye. Many who possess the world's riches are poorer than the poor, because their hearts are diseased.
Darkness seems suited to those with failing eyes, so if your vision is dim, let it drive you to the light of Christ, who made a whole man sound, not merely a part. Do not demand a sign, but trust that whether you see clearly or through a haze, the health of the soul is the true miracle. We rejoice over the restoration of loved ones, as Paul rejoiced over Epaphroditus, but far greater is the joy when a sinner turns to God. Persist in prayer, even if healing tarries, for a tree that withstands many blows may fall at last with one stroke, and so the soul often yields to grace after long striving.
Therefore, let your petition be not alone for the eye's lens, but for the mind's vision. May you, being restored in whatever measure the Physician ordains, fix your gaze on the eternal things, where no surgery is needed and all is made whole. We will ask this in Jesus' name.
