We lift up your sister-in-law before the throne of grace, asking our Heavenly Father to guide the hands of her surgeons and medical team with divine precision. The Bible assures us in Psalm 139:13-14 that God knit us together in our mother’s womb and that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Every part of our bodies, including our eyes, is known intimately by Him. We pray that He would restore her sight according to His perfect will, whether through complete healing or the skillful correction of the surgeons.
Lord, we ask that You calm any fear or anxiety she may be feeling. Your Word tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard her heart and mind as she prepares for and undergoes this surgery.
We also pray for wisdom and discernment for the medical team. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and not lean on our own understanding. In all our ways, we are to acknowledge Him, and He will direct our paths. We ask that You direct the steps of those caring for her, giving them clarity and insight as they work to restore her vision.
Father, we rebuke any spirit of fear or complication that may seek to interfere with this procedure. We stand on Your promise in Isaiah 41:10, "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." Let Your presence be tangible in the operating room, bringing comfort, healing, and success.
We pray that this surgery would not only improve her physical sight but also draw her closer to You, the giver of all good gifts. Open the eyes of her heart, Lord, to see Your hand at work in her life, as it says in Ephesians 1:18, "having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints."
We commit this time of surgery into Your hands, trusting that You are in control. May Your will be done in her life, and may she experience Your healing touch in a powerful way. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, through whom we have access to the Father. Amen.
