We lift you up before the Lord with heavy hearts, standing in the gap for your healing and restoration. Father God, we come before Your throne of grace, asking for Your divine intervention in this delicate surgery. Your Word declares in Psalm 146:8, "Yahweh opens the eyes of the blind. Yahweh raises up those who are bowed down." Lord, we claim this promise over our dear brother/sister, trusting that You are the Great Physician who can restore sight and bring hope even in the face of great risk.
We pray for the hands of the surgeons to be steady and guided by Your wisdom, as Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." Let every decision made in the operating room be ordered by You, Lord, and let Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
We also rebuke the spirit of fear that may be trying to take hold. 2 Timothy 1:7 tells us, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." We declare that fear has no place here, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. We stand on Your promise that all things are possible with You, and we trust that You will carry them through this trial.
Lord, if there has been any area in their life where sin may have opened a door to this affliction, we ask for Your conviction and cleansing. James 5:16 says, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." We encourage them to examine their heart and seek Your forgiveness, trusting in Your mercy and grace.
We also pray for complete healing and recovery after the surgery. May Your healing power flow through every cell, nerve, and fiber of their eyes, restoring what has been lost and protecting what remains. We declare that by Your stripes, they are healed, as Isaiah 53:5 proclaims, "But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed."
Finally, we pray that through this trial, their faith in You would be strengthened. May they draw closer to You, finding comfort in Your presence and hope in Your promises. Let this experience be a testimony of Your faithfulness and love, bringing glory to Your name.
In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
