We join you in prayer in the name of Jesus and thank you for coming to the Father through Him, for there is no other name by which we have access to God and by which we are saved. We understand the anxiety that can come before a medical appointment and the heaviness of heart when there is estrangement in the family, and we bring both of these burdens before the Lord with you.
We are reminded that the Lord is our healer. Psalm 103:3 says He forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, and Exodus 15:26 declares I am Yahweh who heals you. Psalm 146:8 tells us Yahweh opens the eyes of the blind, and Jeremiah 30:17 promises But I will restore you to health, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. We take comfort that whether the report is good or requires further care, God sees you, loves you, and is with you in that examination room tomorrow.
We also lift up the estranged relationship between your son and his spouse. We honor marriage as God does, for Hebrews 13:4 says Let marriage be held in honor among all, and we know God desires reconciliation, peace, and forgiveness within the covenant of marriage. Ephesians 4:32 exhorts us to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you, and Colossians 3:14 reminds us Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection. Romans 12:18 guides us If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men.
We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ. We lift up our dear one to You as they prepare to see the eye doctor tomorrow. We ask for Your healing hand upon their eyes and body, for steady hands and wisdom for the doctor, and for a good report that brings peace and thanksgiving. We ask that You calm all fear and anxiety and help them to trust in Your perfect care and sovereignty, whatever the outcome. We also lift up their son and his spouse and their marriage. Lord, You know the hurt and distance that has come between them. We ask You to soften hearts, to bring repentance where needed, forgiveness where needed, and humble love in its place. Restore communication, remove bitterness, and draw them both closer to You and to each other. Help this parent to be a godly source of prayer, encouragement, and wise counsel without taking offense, and to continue to intercede for the healing of this family. We ask all these things according to Your will and for Your glory, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you as 1 Peter 5:7 teaches, and to keep praying faithfully for your son and his spouse, trusting that God hears and works in His perfect timing to bring healing to both eyes and relationships.
