Extremely Discouraged and doubtful

Beloved of All
Hello, I understand that if we want to eat, we must work. I'm looking for work. People keep saying to ask and network, most of the people I've asked or told that I'm looking for work tell me that they don't know. We can't help you. I'm going to give up on the search because it's too hard and I'm tired of reaching out without any answers. I'll just have to let the debt continue to grow. I'm tired from the abuse that I went through at the previous employer and have no interest in being overloaded with work. I searched and searched and now I give up. Sometimes people give advice that doesn't work for everyone. My body is breaking down due to the stress. I just can't do anymore. I cried out loudly for relief in Jesus' name and no answer. I pray that everyone else who requests prayer will be answered in the name of Jesus Christ. I'm tired.

We hear the deep weariness and heartache in your words, and we want you to know that you are not alone in this struggle. The weight of discouragement, physical exhaustion, and unanswered prayers can feel overwhelming, but we urge you not to lose heart. The Lord sees your tears, hears your cries, and is near to the brokenhearted. Let us turn to His Word for strength and hope, for it is written in **Psalm 34:18**, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* You are not forgotten, and your pain is not unseen by Him.

It is true that Scripture calls us to work, as you mentioned, for even the apostle Paul wrote in **2 Thessalonians 3:10**, *"For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: 'If anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat.'"* Yet this is not a call to work in your own strength alone, but to trust in the Lord’s provision as you seek employment. The same God who fed the Israelites manna in the wilderness and provided for Elijah through ravens is the same God who cares for you today. **Matthew 6:26** reminds us, *"See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, nor reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they?"* Your value is not in what you can produce or achieve, but in who you are as a child of God.

We understand the frustration of reaching out to others only to hear, *"We can’t help you."* It can feel as though the world has turned its back, but we must remember that our ultimate help comes from the Lord. **Psalm 121:1-2** declares, *"I will lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from? My help comes from Yahweh, who made heaven and earth."* While networking and asking others for assistance can be part of the process, it is not where our hope should rest. Human help may fail, but the Lord never will. He is your Provider, your Jehovah-Jireh, and He has not abandoned you.

Your mention of the abuse and mistreatment you endured at your previous job breaks our hearts. No one should have to suffer in such a way, and it is understandable that the thought of returning to a similar environment fills you with dread. We want to gently remind you that the Lord calls us to work *as unto Him*, not unto men. **Colossians 3:23-24** says, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."* This does not mean you must endure abuse, but it does mean that when the Lord provides a new opportunity, you can trust Him to guide you to a place where you are treated with dignity and respect. He is a God of justice, and He sees the wrongs done to you.

We also hear the physical toll this season has taken on your body. Stress and exhaustion are real, and the Lord cares about your well-being. **1 Peter 5:7** tells us to *"cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you."* This is not a call to passivity but to trust. The Lord may be asking you to rest in Him even as you continue to seek work. Have you considered whether there are small steps you can take to care for your body and spirit during this time? Even in the wilderness, the Lord provided rest for His people. Perhaps this is a season to lean on Him more deeply, to allow others in the body of Christ to support you, and to seek His peace that surpasses understanding.

You mentioned crying out to the Lord in Jesus’ name and feeling as though there has been no answer. We want to encourage you that silence does not mean absence. The Lord is at work, even when we cannot see it. **Isaiah 64:4** reminds us, *"For from of old men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, nor has the eye seen a God besides you, who works for him who waits for him."* His timing is perfect, and His ways are higher than ours. It may be that He is preparing something for you that you cannot yet see. It may also be that He is refining your faith, teaching you to depend on Him in ways you never have before.

We must also address something critical: you prayed in Jesus’ name, and that is wonderful, for it is only through His name that we have access to the Father. **John 14:6** declares, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* And **Acts 4:12** affirms, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* Your faith in calling on Jesus is evidence of His work in your life. Do not let the enemy whisper lies that the Lord has forgotten you. Instead, cling to the truth that Jesus is your Advocate, your Intercessor, and your Hope.

Now, let us pray for you together:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, knowing that You are the God who sees, who hears, and who acts on behalf of Your children. Lord, we ask that You would renew their strength, as the eagle’s wings, that they would rise above this weariness and find hope in You. You know the depth of their discouragement, the weight of their debt, and the pain of their past. We ask that You would provide a job—not just any job, but one that aligns with Your will, where they are treated with kindness and respect, and where they can work unto You with joy.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness that has sought to overwhelm them. We declare that You are their Provider, their Healer, and their Peace. Lord, restore their body, mind, and spirit. Give them wisdom to know how to care for themselves during this season, and surround them with Your people who can offer support and encouragement.

We ask that You would open doors that no man can shut, that You would connect them with the right opportunities, and that You would give them favor in the eyes of those who can help. Lord, let them see Your hand at work in their life, even in the small things, so that their faith would be strengthened.

Most of all, Father, we pray that they would know Your presence in a tangible way. Remind them that they are not alone, that You are with them, and that You are working all things together for their good. Give them patience to wait on You, trust to lean on You, and peace to rest in You.

We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Finally, we want to leave you with this encouragement from **Galatians 6:9**: *"Let’s not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up."* Do not give up, dear one. The Lord is with you, and He is faithful. Keep seeking Him, keep trusting Him, and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of your faith. He will not fail you. If you feel led, consider reaching out to your local church or a trusted believer for support during this time. You are not meant to walk this road alone. We are standing with you in prayer.

We hear your cry, dear friend, and we're here with you. We understand the exhaustion, the discouragement, and the pain of feeling unanswered. It's like you've been walking through a long, dark valley, and the path ahead seems unclear. But remember, even in the darkest night, the stars still shine, and our God is always there.

We want you to know that God sees you. He sees your tears, He hears your cries, and He knows the weight you're carrying. He is not far from you, even when it feels like He is. He is the God who is near to the brokenhearted, who saves those who have a crushed spirit (Psalm 34:18). He is your Jehovah-Jireh, your Provider, and He will not abandon you.

We also understand the frustration of seeking work and feeling like no one can help. It's easy to feel forgotten, to feel like giving up. But let's turn to God's Word for strength and hope. In Matthew 6:26, Jesus tells us, "Look at the birds of the sky... Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you of much more value than they?" You are precious to Him, and He cares for you deeply.

We want to encourage you to keep trusting in the Lord. He is your Provider, and He will provide for you. He is your Strength, and He will renew your strength. He is your Peace, and He will give you peace in the midst of the storm. Keep seeking Him, keep trusting Him, and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of your faith.

Let's also remind you that God's timing is perfect. Even when we can't see it, He is at work. He may be preparing something for you that you can't yet see, or He may be refining your faith, teaching you to depend on Him in ways you never have before.

We're praying for you, dear friend. We're asking God to renew your strength, to provide for you, to give you peace, and to reveal Himself to you in a tangible way. We're also reminding you that you're not alone. We're standing with you, and we're here to support you in any way we can.

Please, don't give up. Keep seeking, keep trusting, and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. He will not fail you. If you feel led, consider reaching out to your local church or a trusted believer for support during this time. You are not meant to walk this road alone.

We're here for you, and we're believing with you for a breakthrough. Keep holding on, dear one. Your God is faithful, and He will see you through.

Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
