We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your son as he prepares to take his exams. Father God, we know that You hold all wisdom and knowledge, and we ask that You grant him clarity of mind, peace in his heart, and the discipline to study diligently. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 2:6, "For the Lord gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding." We pray that Your wisdom would fill him as he prepares, that he would retain what he has learned, and that he would approach his exams with confidence, not in his own strength, but in Yours.
Lord, we also ask that You calm any anxiety or fear he may be feeling. Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." We pray that Your peace would guard his heart and mind, that he would trust in You rather than in his own efforts alone.
We rebuke the spirit of fear and distraction that may be trying to hinder his focus. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but we stand on the promise of John 10:10, where Jesus says, "I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly." We declare that Your abundance of peace, focus, and success in his studies would be upon him.
Father, we also pray for his spiritual well-being during this time. It is easy to become so consumed with worldly pursuits that we forget to seek You first. Matthew 6:33 says, "But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Help him to prioritize his relationship with You, even in the midst of his studies. May he find time to rest in Your presence, to read Your Word, and to seek Your face.
We pray that You would surround him with godly influences—friends, mentors, and teachers who will encourage him in his faith and in his studies. Let him be a light to those around him, showing the love and peace of Christ even in stressful times.
Lord, we ask that You would bless his efforts and grant him success according to Your will. Whether the outcome of these exams is what he hopes for or not, help him to trust in Your plan for his life. Jeremiah 29:11 assures us, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." We pray that he would hold fast to this promise, knowing that You have a good plan for his life.
Finally, we pray that he would come to know You more deeply through this season. If he does not yet have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, we ask that You would draw him to Yourself. There is no greater wisdom, no greater peace, and no greater success than knowing Christ as Lord and Savior. Acts 4:12 tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." We pray that he would surrender his life to Jesus, if he hasn’t already, and that he would walk in the fullness of life that only You can provide.
In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
