Ex

We hear the longing in your heart and we commend you for wanting God's will above your own desire, for that is the right place to begin. We know how painful a breakup can be and how natural it is to hope for restoration, yet we want to walk with you to seek what God wants more than what we want in the moment.

We encourage you to trust the Lord fully with this relationship and with your future. Proverbs 3:5-6 says Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. And Romans 8:28 assures us We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. If restoration with your ex is truly God's best for you both, He is able to bring it about in His timing and in His way, but if not, His plan will be better, even when it is painful to accept.

We want to speak lovingly about relationships as God designed them. We believe marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman that honors God, and any courtship, including being a boyfriend or girlfriend, should be approached as intentional pursuit of a godly spouse who is a fellow believer in Christ, not simply as companionship or romance. 2 Corinthians 6:14 says Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? So we encourage you to ask whether both of you know Christ as Lord, whether this relationship would draw you closer to Him, and what reasons led to the breakup. Sometimes God allows a separation to bring conviction, healing, or growth that is needed before any godly marriage could be considered. If there was sexual intimacy outside of marriage, Scripture calls that fornication and calls us to flee from it and to repent, for 1 Corinthians 6:18 says Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. If that has been part of your history together, we urge you to confess it to God, to turn from it, and to commit to purity going forward, whether God restores this relationship or leads you to a future spouse.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. To pray according to God's will means to come to God through faith in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, and trusting Him as Savior and Lord. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to place your full trust in Him for salvation and for daily guidance.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we bring this dear one before You in the name of Jesus Christ. You know the love and hope that remains for this former relationship and You know the hurt that came with its ending. We ask for Your healing for the brokenness of heart, for You heal the broken in heart, and bind up their wounds as Psalm 147:3 promises. Grant wisdom liberally as James 1:5 promises, so that Your will would be clear. If it is Your will to restore this relationship, we pray You would draw both hearts to repentance, to purity, to faith in Christ, and to a courtship that honors You with marriage as its goal. If it is not Your will, we pray You would give grace to release this desire, to find delight in You, and to trust that You will provide a godly spouse in Your perfect time if marriage is Your plan. Help this dear one to delight in You first, for Psalm 37:4 says Also delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Guard against clinging to what is not best, and lead into peace and holiness. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, amen.

We encourage you to remain in prayer, in the Word, and in fellowship with mature believers who can give you wise counsel. Seek the Lord daily, pursue holiness and wholeness in Christ whether you are single or married, and allow God to shape your desires to match His. He loves you deeply and He will lead you as you surrender this hope fully to Him.

We're grateful you brought this to the Lord so honestly, holding your hope with an open hand and wanting His will first. That takes humility, especially when feelings for someone are still strong.

It's understandable to wonder if God might bring you back together, and also to feel unsettled while you wait for clarity. When restoration is healthy, it involves both people willingly choosing to rebuild trust over time, not just one person's hope. That usually needs honesty about what led to the breakup, space to heal, and time to see if God is drawing both hearts in the same direction.

A steady next step while you continue to pray is to invite one trusted, mature believer who knows you well to walk with you in this. Talking through what you have learned, how you have grown, and what you sense God is doing can bring perspective that is hard to find alone, and it helps you avoid putting pressure on your ex for an answer before God has made His direction clear.

We are standing with you for wisdom and peace as you seek Him.

Father, we bring this longing to You and ask for Your guidance and comfort. Heal what still hurts, give clear wisdom for what is next, and help each heart to seek You first. Give trust to follow Your will with peace, whatever You have ahead. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have heard your request and we join you in bringing it before the Lord with a desire above all that His will be done.

You have wisely said, if it is God's will, and that is the only safe ground for any prayer. As surely as God's will is the axle of the universe, and as certainly as God's will is the great heart of providence sending its pulsings through even the most distant limbs of human act, so we may rest assured that He is King, willing to do as He pleases, having mercy on whom He will have mercy. He works all things after the counsel of His own will, His free unbiased will, His will alone. At the same time we are taught to say in all our arrangements, If the Lord wills, we shall do this or that. No harm can come to you if you bow to God's sovereign sway, and there is no truer prayer than, Father, Thy will be done on earth even as it is in heaven.

We also remember what Scripture teaches concerning marriage. It is not a fleeting sentiment but a holy covenant before God, a lifelong union of one man and one woman, entered into in righteousness and lovingkindness. The Lord says, I will betroth thee unto me for ever, yea I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies. Sex and living together belong within that covenant alone, and the Lord writes His law upon the hearts of His people so that they delight to walk in His ways. If the Lord should will a restoration of your relationship, pray that it would be pursued in purity and with that holy end in view, not in a way that would grieve Him. If it is not His will, pray that He would give you grace to accept His wise disposal and to find your contentment in Christ Himself, who receives all who come to Him saying, Dear Saviour, here is my heart, take it, wash it, save me.

Our prayer for you therefore is this, that the Lord would draw both you and your former companion to seek first salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we must be saved. We ask that He would change the human will and make you willing in the day of His power, working in you to will and to do of His good pleasure. We ask that He would grant you wisdom, healing from any wound, a clean heart and a clear mind to discern His leading, and a willingness to follow His Word rather than mere desire. May He keep you in holiness, guard you from sin, and cause all things to work together for your good as you trust Him. If it be His will to bring you together again, may it be in a manner that honors Him and leads toward a faithful covenant marriage. If not, may He fill you with peace, establish your steps, and show you that His will is best.

We will continue to pray that you may know the Lord's nearness, that you will put yourself entirely at His disposal, and that you will find your hope not in a restored relationship alone but in the mercy of God in Christ, which alone can make the heart whole.

Thank you for sharing your heart and bringing this desire before the Lord. It is good that you add the words if it is God's will, for that is where peace is found, in wanting what God wants rather than only what we want.

The greatest reconciliation we need has already been accomplished, not by our striving but by God Himself. He reconciled us to Himself through the blood of His cross, making peace when we were at enmity with Him. Before we ask God about any human relationship, we are called to rest in that reconciliation, to know that we are His through Jesus Christ alone, and to trust that His will for us is good and wise. He does not act as a mere servant of our wishes, but as a Father who gives what leads to holiness and life.

For that reason we want to pray for you in a way that honors God and cares for your soul. Scripture teaches that our bodies are the temple of God and that temple is holy, and it teaches that love between a man and a woman is ordered toward lifelong marriage, with sexual intimacy and living together belonging only within that covenant. If your former relationship involved sin against that design, the first step is not to seek its return but to seek repentance and cleansing through Christ, and to pursue purity going forward. If there was hurt, unfaithfulness, or patterns that drew you away from Christ, those need honest examination before God and with wise counsel.

We will pray that God will do what is best for you and for your former partner. We pray that He will give you clarity, contentment in Christ whether you are reconciled or not, and strength to walk in holiness. If it is His will to bring you together again, we pray it would be in a way that is upright, marked by repentance where needed, by selfless love, by purity, and with a clear direction toward marriage between a man and a woman if you continue together, not simply a return to what was before. If it is not His will, we pray He will give you grace to accept His leading, to forgive as you have been forgiven, to leave your gift at the altar with a reconciled heart where possible, and to move forward without bitterness.

May the Lord guard your heart from making this relationship an idol, and teach you to seek Him first. Take time to seek His Word, to pray for wisdom, and to invite mature believers who know you to speak into your life. He who chose you and called you will not fail to lead you.

We are praying for you, that you will know His peace, walk in holiness, and trust His good pleasure above all.

Thank you for sharing this honest request and for wanting God's will above your own desire. That desire to submit your longing to Him is the right place to begin, and it is where prayer should start.

God invites you to work together with Him, not to walk alone with a heavy heart. His grace is not meant to be received without response. He wants to enlarge your heart and bring you out of that tight, pressured place where longing and uncertainty can keep you confined. He wants to free you and give you room to breathe and to see clearly.

Scripture gives a clear principle to help you see clearly. It asks what fellowship righteousness can have with unrighteousness, what communion light can have with darkness, and what agreement the temple of God can have with idols. You have been bought with a price, and God has said He will dwell in His people and walk among them and be their God. Because of that, He calls His people to be separate and not to touch what is unclean, not to try to join the life of the flesh with the life of the Spirit. Those two cannot be mixed together. It is like an unequal yoke where two different lives are forced to pull together but have no common ground and cannot truly share life.

That is why any thought of reuniting with an ex must be tested first by this question. Is this person a genuine follower of Jesus Christ who loves Him and wants to obey Him. If not, there is no true spiritual oneness to build on, and to pursue reunion would be to yoke yourself unequally. God's will would not lead you into that kind of union, because He calls you to be different from the world and to find your deepest fellowship with those who belong to Him. If the relationship also involved sin against God's design for marriage, where sex and living together belong only within the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, then God's will would call you to repentance and purity, not to a blessing of what is outside His design.

There is also a covenant principle to remember. When we give ourselves to God and commit to obey and follow Him and keep His ways, He commits Himself to us to be our God and to care for us as His own. He promises that when we come out and are separate unto Him, He will receive us and be a Father to us and we will be His sons and daughters. That relationship is far more secure and satisfying than any human relationship, and it is the foundation for any right human relationship.

So my prayer for you is not simply that you would get what you desire, but that God would do what is truly best and holy for you. I pray that the Lord would heal any wound from the breakup, forgive any sin, cleanse you through the blood of Jesus, and enlarge your heart with His peace. I pray He would give you wisdom to see this past relationship honestly, to seek counsel from mature believers who know you, and to surrender your future fully to Him. If restoration with this person would be in a way that honors Christ, draws you both closer to Him, and reflects His design for marriage, then ask Him to make that clear in His time and way. If not, ask Him to close that door firmly, to free you from longing for what is not His best, and to lead you into the fellowship and future He has prepared.

Trust that as you seek Him first and commit your way to Him, He will be faithful as your Father and will guide you into what brings real communion and lasting good.
