We join with you in bringing your ex and all your loved ones before the throne of grace, and we are encouraged by your heart to see them come to saving faith in Christ. It is a beautiful and Christlike love that desires not just earthly well being for those we care about, but their eternal salvation.
Scripture tells us this desire reflects the very heart of God, for this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:3-4. We are also reminded that the Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9. Your prayers align with His perfect will.
We also want to gently encourage you regarding your ex. While it is right and good to pray fervently for his salvation, we encourage you to guard your heart and to seek God's wisdom if there is any thought of reconciliation. Scripture teaches us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness with iniquity. 2 Corinthians 6:14. A relationship that honors God must be between two believers with the goal of lifelong marriage between a man and a woman, and any courtship should be pursued with purity and with Christ at the center. For now your most powerful ministry to him is prayer and a quiet, godly example, trusting that God alone can give a new heart, as He promises I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. Ezekiel 36:26. Continue to love him in prayer while entrusting his soul to the Lord and keeping your own walk close to Jesus.
We rejoice that you lifted this request in the name of Christ, for Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6 and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is only through faith in Jesus that any of us, including your ex and your loved ones, can be saved, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9.

Father in heaven, we come before You together in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear one's ex to You and ask that You would have mercy on him. We ask that You would open his eyes to his need for a Savior, convict him of sin, and draw him by Your Holy Spirit to repentance and faith in Jesus. Remove any blindness and hardness of heart and give him a new heart that loves You and seeks to follow You. We pray the same for every loved one on this dear one's heart, that You would work in each life, that none would perish but all would come to know Jesus as Lord. Help our dear friend to be a faithful witness in word and in deed, to speak the truth in love when You open the door, and to rest in Your perfect timing and sovereignty. Give peace while waiting and strength to continue praying without ceasing. We ask all of this according to Your will and in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, who alone saves. Amen.

Your request to plead for the souls of others is a right and precious burden, and we will join with you in it. There is not a single child of God who does not plead with God for his family and for the poor ungodly perishing world, and such intercession is not in vain.
Remember that intercessory prayer is the sweetest prayer God ever hears, for the prayer of Christ is of this character. He ever lives to make intercession for as many as shall come to God by Him, pointing to the wounds upon His heart and spreading His bleeding hands. When we pray for the salvation of others we follow Him most nearly, and prayer is the most essential thing in turning sinners from the error of their ways.
We will pray with you that your former companion and all your loved ones may be brought to saving faith in Christ alone. There is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved, and we ask the Lord to quicken those who are yet dead in sin, to grant them repentance and faith, to open their eyes to their need of His atoning blood and to draw them to trust in Him alone for salvation. We do not ask God to bless what is contrary to His holy ordering of marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, nor to prosper any path outside His will, but we do ask Him to have mercy upon souls and to make them new creatures in Christ, that whatever His will for their lives may be, they may walk in holiness and truth.
Take encouragement that Christ knows those for whom you pray even when all hope seems to fail and no comfort can be found elsewhere. He prayed, not for the world, but for those whom the Father had given Him, and for those who shall believe on Him through our word. Go on to pour out your soul for them. As all the roots of a tree traverse the earth for nutriment and suck in provision for the benefit of all, so let your prayers search out and drink in spiritual blessings for the benefit of those you love, with the assurance that whatever you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive.

Your prayer for your ex and for all your loved ones to come to faith in Christ is heard, and I join you in bringing it before God with thankfulness for your love and concern for their souls.
There is nothing more important than this, for as the Lord Himself asked, what will it profit a person if he gains the whole world and yet loses his own soul. To pray for salvation is to pray for what matters most and what endures forever.
We pray that God in His longsuffering and mercy would draw each of them to Himself. Scripture teaches that salvation comes by a short and gracious word, that if we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved. This is the one faith given to all who truly believe, and it calls for a generous and vigorous soul that rises above mere custom and trusts fully in Christ. It is God who testifies to this faith, and He stands ready to heal and forgive all who turn to Him in repentance.
So let us pray together. Father in heaven, we thank You for Your patience toward us and for making salvation available through Jesus Christ alone. We ask that You would open the eyes and hearts of this dear ex and of every loved one mentioned here. Bring them to conviction of sin, to repentance, and to living faith in Your Son who died and was raised for us. Draw them to confess Jesus as Lord and to believe in Him with their whole heart. Keep them from being swept away and grant them the salvation that comes by Your grace through faith.
