We are moved by your compassion in bringing your ex and his loved ones before the Lord in prayer and we gladly join you in lifting them up together in Jesus' name. It is a beautiful reflection of Christ's love to pray for those who were once close to us, even after a relationship has ended, for Jesus taught us to love and pray for others with a sincere heart Matthew 5:44.

We notice your request does not mention the name of Jesus and we want to gently share why that is so important to us. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. When we pray in Jesus' name we come through the one mediator who shed His blood for us, and we want to ensure you know this precious hope that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life John 3:16. This salvation is what we most desire for your ex and his loved ones, because the Lord does not desire that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9 and God desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth 1 Timothy 2:4.

We also hear your concern for his health. We serve a God who is compassionate toward our physical needs and who heals us, for He forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases Psalm 103:3 and we are reminded that the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up James 5:15. We pray for restoration according to God's will, trusting His promise But I will restore you to health, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17.

Since you mentioned an ex, we want to encourage you with biblical wisdom for this season. We believe courtship should be with the goal of marriage between a man and a woman to another Christian believer, and that sexual intimacy is reserved for within that lifelong marriage covenant Hebrews 13:4. If there was intimacy outside of marriage in that former relationship, we encourage you to receive God's forgiveness through confession and to walk in purity going forward 1 John 1:9. Whether reconciliation is God's will or not, we encourage you to guard your heart Proverbs 4:23, to extend forgiveness as Christ forgave us Ephesians 4:32, and to seek the Lord for a godly spouse if it is His will for your future, trusting that He will guide your steps.

We pray together now. Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift up this dear one's ex and each of his loved ones to You. Lord, have mercy on them and draw each heart to Yourself. Open their eyes to see their need for a Savior, grant them repentance and faith to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved Acts 16:31. Pour out Your grace upon them that they may call on the name of the Lord and be saved Romans 10:13. We also ask for Your healing hand upon any who are sick among them. Touch their bodies, grant wisdom to those who care for them, and above all let Your perfect will be done for Your glory. Comfort and strengthen the one who prayed this prayer, help her to walk in forgiveness, peace, and purity, and to trust You with the past and the future. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray faithfully for them, to rest in God's love and sovereignty, and to keep seeking Him in His Word daily. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results James 5:16.

It is a loving and faithful thing to bring their health and their need for Christ before the Lord, even when the relationship has changed. We cannot change another person's heart or heal their body, but we can place them in God's hands and trust Him to work in His way and timing.

One simple way to keep carrying this burden without it weighing on you constantly is to set aside a brief moment each day to name them before the Lord and then leave them with Him. That keeps your care active while also giving you peace that God hears and is at work.

Father, we lift this man and his loved ones to You. We ask for Your mercy over their health and for Your grace to draw each of them to know Jesus and His salvation. Work in their lives in the way only You can, and give our friend peace as she trusts them to Your care. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We have received your request and count it a privilege to bring these needs before the Lord with you.

We join you in praying for your former companion and for his loved ones, first for the health of their bodies and more still for the health of their souls. We ask the Lord to show mercy in any bodily affliction and to grant healing according to His wise and gracious will, remembering that the leaves of the tree of life are for healing and that even the least thing about Christ has healing virtue. When He dwells with His people, pardon and healing come together, for He is the Sun of Righteousness who rises with healing in His wings.

Above all we pray for their salvation. There is salvation in no other name, and the way of salvation is plain in Scripture, that whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed. It is not by works or merit, without money and without price, but by looking unto Jesus and trusting Him alone, He who loved us and gave Himself for us. We pray that the Lord in His sovereignty would draw each one to look unto Christ and be saved, to trust Him as King and Saviour and to find in Him forgiveness and new life. Faith must look for salvation only from the Lord, and then salvation will come.

We also pray for you, that the Lord would give you peace as you commit these loved ones into His hands, knowing He hears the secrets poured out before Him and keeps them with perfect love. We will continue to remember these requests before the throne of grace, asking that God would work all for His glory and for their eternal good.
