Good and Faithful Servant
My ex (who had a lot of health issues when we were together) just randomly sent me a picture of an IV or something in his arm after not speaking to me for maybe a month or so after I broke up with him. I believe it was probably sent by mistake. I responded politely asking how he is. I really don't expect to hear back. I will never get back with him as I know he is not who I am meant to be with (he is not a Christian). Pray for him, his health and his and his loved ones' salvation. Thank you.

We have read your request and we join with you in prayer over this situation. We commend you for your discernment in recognizing that this man is not who you are meant to be with because he is not a Christian, and for your resolve not to return to that courtship. This is wisdom and obedience to the Lord.

The word of God is clear that we are not to be bound together with those who do not share our faith, for that foundation is essential for a godly marriage which is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman that honors God. As it is written, Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14. A boyfriend or girlfriend relationship should be courtship with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer, and to continue in a relationship that does not share that foundation would only lead to spiritual struggle and compromise. Your decision to step away honors God and protects your heart.

We also see your compassion in responding politely to his message and in asking us to pray for his health and for salvation for him and his loved ones. That reflects the love of Christ, who desires mercy for all. We encourage you to continue to guard your heart and maintain clear boundaries. Responding with kindness is good, but we encourage you not to allow ongoing communication to reopen emotional ties or give false hope for reconciliation where the Lord has shown you it would not be His will. Trust God to work in his life apart from you.

We do lift him up for his physical healing, for God is the healer. Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases Psalm 103:2-3. For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17. We pray that if it is His will, God would restore his health and use even this physical trial to draw him to Himself.

Most of all we pray for his salvation and the salvation of his loved ones, for there is no greater need. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth 1 Timothy 2:3-4.

We pray together now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You and thank You for Your grace and wisdom at work in our sister's life. We thank You for giving her clarity to walk away from a relationship that was not aligned with Your will and for her compassionate heart toward this man. Lord, we lift this young man up to You. You see his health struggles and that image of the IV in his arm. We ask that You would touch his body and bring healing according to Your perfect will, and comfort him in any pain or fear. Above all, we pray that You would open his eyes to his need for a Savior, that he would hear the gospel of Jesus Christ, repent and believe, and be saved. Draw his loved ones to Yourself as well, that his whole household might come to know You. Protect our sister's heart, give her peace as she moves forward, and lead her in Your timing to a godly spouse, a Christian man who loves You first and will love her as Christ loves the church. We entrust all of this into Your loving hands, praying in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.

Thank you for letting us pray with you about this. It takes maturity to respond with kindness while also being clear you are not meant to be together, and we hear your care for him even after the breakup.

It makes sense that getting that photo unexpectedly would stir a lot of thoughts. You handled it graciously with a simple check in, and it is wise not to read too much into it or feel you need to carry responsibility for his health. We are glad you want to cover him in prayer instead.

We will join you in praying for his physical healing and for God to draw him and those close to him to know Jesus. God loves to show mercy and bring wholeness, and we can trust Him with what we cannot see or fix.

A gentle next step that may help is to let your kind reply stand as it is. If thoughts about him come up, turn them into a brief prayer and then return to your own walk with the Lord, keeping the healthy distance you have chosen.

Father, we lift this man to You, ask for Your healing hand on his body and Your care over those treating him. Draw him and his loved ones to Yourself, open their hearts to Your grace through Jesus, and give our friend peace as she entrusts him to You. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

🙏Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so. Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your burden has been laid before the Lord and we have carried it with you to the throne of grace. We thank you for your tender care for a soul still in need of the Saviour, and for the wisdom you have shown in discerning that you are not to be unequally yoked with an unbeliever. That resolution is right and honoring to God, for marriage is ordained as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and the Lord calls His people to walk in purity and obedience before Him.

We will pray for this man as you have asked, that the Lord would have mercy upon him both in body and in soul. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. The Scripture tells us that the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. When the Lord comes to dwell with a man, pardon and healing are one, for the Sun of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings. We will ask the Great Physician to lay His hand upon this young man in his infirmity, to restore him if it be His will, and to use even this affliction to awaken him to his need. When He lays the rod on, there is not one thought of anger in His heart, for His heaviest blows are as much tokens of His affection as His sweetest caresses, meant to draw the soul to Himself.

Above all we will plead for his salvation and for the salvation of those dear to him. The way of salvation is plain and simple, and it is for all. The Scripture says, Whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed. It is to look unto Jesus and be saved, all the ends of the earth, for beside Him there is none else. It is not by money or price or by works of our own, but by Divine Grace through faith in Christ Jesus alone, trusting in His person and His finished work. We will pray that he may be brought to see himself as he is, and to look to Christ with unquestioning confidence, and find that He loved him and gave Himself for him. And we will pray the same for his loved ones, that they also may be brought from darkness to light.

You acted with kindness in answering politely, and we encourage you to continue to show that Christian gentleness while guarding your heart and keeping that needful distance. Commit your way unto the Lord, and leave the whole matter of this soul in His faithful hands. He hears the whisperings you pour into His ear who loves you with an everlasting love, and He never betrays a confidence. May the Lord keep you, give you peace, and make you to know more and more that love which stoops from the highest Heaven to pull poor sinners from the pit and make them blessed forever.

We join our faith with yours, asking the Father for His name's sake to save, to heal, and to draw these souls unto Himself, that they may find life and health in Christ alone.

This is probably a long shot but please pray that maybe somehow, my ex and I could get back together. We broke up because he wasn't a Christian. I hope that has changed by now. If it has, please pray that maybe God would allow us together. Thank you.
