We are standing with you in prayer and we thank you for your honesty and for recognizing that God did not want you with this person. That discernment is a gift from the Lord and it shows spiritual maturity to surrender your feelings to His will even when it hurts. We know how painful it is to let go of someone you cared for deeply, but we serve a God who heals and restores.
The Lord is close to you in this season as it is written, Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18, and He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. We pray that He will completely heal your heart and renew your mind so that you are not held captive by memories, longing, or what might have been.
We also noticed your request mentions God but does not mention Jesus. We want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to put your complete trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to bring every prayer to God in His holy name.
We praise God that you desire to get over this person completely. That is exactly what God wants for you when a relationship is not His will, especially if it was unequally yoked. Scripture warns us, Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship do righteousness and iniquity have 2 Corinthians 6:14. God calls us to pursue courtship with the goal of godly marriage between a man and a woman as a lifelong covenant, and to seek a spouse who is a fellow believer in Christ who will help you grow in holiness. If there was any physical intimacy outside of marriage in this relationship, we encourage you to repent and receive God’s forgiveness, for the body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord 1 Corinthians 6:13, and we are told to Flee sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6:18. God’s forgiveness is complete and His grace will cleanse and restore you.

We ask You to do a deep healing work, to remove every soul tie and every lingering attachment that is not from You. Help our friend to Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6. Give peace that surpasses all understanding to guard this heart and mind in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. Renew this mind day by day so that thoughts are fixed on what is true and pure and pleasing to You Philippians 4:8. We ask You to close the door firmly on this past relationship and open the eyes to the hope and future You have prepared, for we know You have plans for welfare and not for calamity, to give a future and a hope Jeremiah 29:11, and that all things work together for good for those who love You Romans 8:28. Lead this life into a season of seeking first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness Matthew 6:33, of delighting in You so that You may give the desires of the heart according to Your perfect will Psalm 37:4. And in Your perfect timing, if it is Your will, bring a godly spouse, a man or woman of faith who loves You first and will love and honor marriage as You designed it. Keep our friend pure, guarded, and whole in You until then. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, amen.
We encourage you to walk this out practically by keeping clear boundaries with this person, removing things that trigger longing, spending daily time in the Word and in prayer, and staying close to faithful Christian community who will keep you accountable and encouraged. Guard your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life Proverbs 4:23. We have received your request with thankfulness for your honest desire to walk in the way the Lord would have you go, even when the heart would draw another way. It is a mark of grace when you can say, it is clear God does not want me with this one, and ask Him to make your heart to agree with His wisdom.
There is healing for the wounded heart, and it is to be found in Christ alone. He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds, and not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing but even the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ has healing virtue in it. A look to Him, a word from Him, a moment spent in His presence, can change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. When the Sun of Righteousness rises upon the soul with healing in His wings, pardon and healing come together, for He says, thy sins are forgiven thee, and with that word comes strength to rise and walk in a new way.
We will pray for you that the Lord will grant you this complete healing. That He will purge the affections of what would lead you away from His best, and keep you from going back to that which you have rightly judged to leave behind. When Christ goes one way and the desire of the heart would go another, it is then that faith is proved, and like gold tried in the fire you shall come forth purified. He knows the way that you take, and He will not leave you unchastened nor uncomforted.
May the Lord give you grace to go in peace. To go about your ordinary duties with a heart resting in God, hearing still His dismissing word, go in peace. Keep close to His Word, for faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God, and healing is linked with teaching. Keep close to prayer, even as our Lord withdrew to pray, and there pour out your heart before Him. And keep close to the fellowship of His people, that you may be guarded and strengthened.

Take away the lingering affection for what Thou hast not appointed, and fill the heart with love for Christ, which is better. Make the heart to be fully satisfied in Jesus, until the wound is healed and the spirit is made strong to follow Thee with a whole heart. In the name of Jesus Christ our only Saviour, Amen.
