We join you in praying for this man who is both your former landlord and your former relationship, and we thank you for standing on the truth of Luke 9:24, For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake, the same will save it.

We agree with you that Jesus reigns over all darkness and that His light expels darkness and every unclean spirit, for it is written that the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it John 1:5 and Jesus said I am the light of the world. He who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life John 8:12. There is no power that can withstand His mighty power, and we believe He desires to show His mercy and grace to this man.

We also want to gently speak to what you have shared about this being your ex. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman as outlined in the Bible, and that any romantic relationship outside of that covenant should be understood as courtship with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer. The Bible teaches that marriage should be held in honor among all, and the bed undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers Hebrews 13:4 and to flee sexual immorality, for every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18. If there was intimacy or living together outside of marriage in this rented apartment situation, we encourage you both to repent and to seek purity before the Lord, and if you are considering any restoration of the relationship, to do so only in a way that honors God and pursues a godly marriage if it is His will, being equally yoked with a believer 2 Corinthians 6:14.

Our greatest hope for this man is the same as yours, that he would not lose his life by trying to save it for himself, but that he would lose his life for Jesus and so save it. The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9 and He desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth 1 Timothy 2:4. We pray that he will hear God's voice concerning His holy plan for his life, for faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God Romans 10:17, and that God will open his heart to understand the gospel.

We pray together now for him and for you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ, for there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12 and Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. We thank You that Your light expels all darkness and that Your love and faithfulness endure forever. We ask for Your mercy and grace upon this man, that You would convict him of sin and draw him to Yourself, that he would confess with his mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in his heart that You raised Him from the dead and be saved Romans 10:9. Help him to surrender fully, to lose his life for Jesus sake so that he may truly save it, to take up his cross daily and follow You Luke 9:23. Remove any blindness and any influence of unclean spirits, heal his heart and guide him on his life's journey, and let him clearly hear Your voice through Your Word and by Your Holy Spirit. We declare victory over this rented apartment situation in Jesus name, asking for Your peace, provision, and righteous resolution, and that everyone involved will see Your greatness and power. For You Father we also pray that You would guard the one who submitted this request, keep her in purity and hope, and lead her in Your will for relationships and for her home. Thank you for sharing your heart for your landlord. It means a lot that you are carrying him in prayer and wanting him to know Jesus and to hear God's direction for his life.

We will keep praying with you that God would draw near to him, soften his heart, and make Himself known in ways he can understand. Only God can open eyes to see the truth, so we can keep placing him in God's hands and trusting His perfect timing and mercy.

One simple way to stay steady in this is to keep bringing him to the Lord by name when you pray for your home and day, and to let your interactions with him reflect the grace you have received. That quiet witness often speaks louder than words.

Father, we lift this landlord to You. You know him by name and You love him. We ask that You would reveal Jesus to him, help him hear Your voice, and lead him into life in Christ. We join with you in prayer in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, according to the word you have set before us, that whosoever will save his life shall lose it, but whosoever will lose his life for His sake shall save it.

We pray that the landlord of whom you speak may hear this gracious warning and promise, and may be brought to lose his life for Christ that he may truly save it. As it has been preached among us, the house in which we dwell in this life has God for its Landlord and we are only tenants, and the true rent He requires is that the whole man be in Christ by a living faith, embracing Jesus as our full salvation. We pray that this man may yet offer the key of his house to the great Landlord and acknowledge that he lives on sufferance as His tenant, and may look unto Jesus and be saved.

For salvation is by divine grace through faith in Christ Jesus alone. The Scripture says, whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed. It is not to look to self, nor to works, nor to another name, but to look unto Him and be saved, all the ends of the earth. It is to trust in a Person, the Lord Jesus Himself, who Himself is salvation, and to depend upon Him without fear as to present and eternal salvation. This salvation is without money and without price, free to every sinner who will receive it, and it is a present salvation and a perfect salvation to all who believe.

We therefore ask the Lord to have mercy upon this landlord, to expel the darkness by His light, and by His Holy Spirit to work faith in his heart that he may believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved. We ask that he may hear the voice of God and be made willing and obedient to His holy plan, which is a plan of holiness and grace, calling every man to repentance and to new life in Christ. May the Lord grant him ears to hear and a heart to obey, that he may be delivered from the present wrath which abides upon the unsaved and from the wrath to come, and may find deliverance from unholy principles and be kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation.

We thank the Lord for His love and faithfulness, and we leave this soul in His mighty hands, whose honor is engaged to save the meanest of His sheep who commit themselves to Him. May the Lord answer according to His perfect will and for His glory, and may all who hear see His greatness and power, for beside Him there is none else.

We have heard your request and we join with you in prayer before our Lord Jesus Christ, who alone is the Captain and Cause of our salvation.

We pray according to His word in Luke 9:24, that whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for Jesus will save it. We ask the Father in Jesus name to have mercy on this landlord and to draw him to salvation while it is still the acceptable time, for now is the day of salvation. May he come to see that what would it profit a man to gain the whole world and yet lose his own soul, and may he turn from seeking to save his life on his own terms to surrendering it to Christ.

We pray that he will hear the voice of God and respond with true faith, confessing with his mouth that Jesus is Lord and believing in his heart that God raised Him from the dead, for this short word carries both salvation and righteousness, and there is salvation in no one else. May the light of Christ which expels all darkness shine upon him, delivering him from every unclean influence and guiding him into a life that bears the fruit of repentance and holiness according to God's good design.

We also bring before the Lord this rented apartment situation that has weighed on you. We ask for His wisdom, peace, and provision for you, and for His grace to enable you to walk with fortitude, with careful hearing of His word, and with trust in His power which no one can withstand. Your burden for your landlord is a true work of intercession, reaching beyond your own needs to bring another person before God, and that kind of prayer itself begins with God who puts love for others in our hearts.

We join you in praying according to Luke 9:24. Jesus said that whoever tries to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for His sake will save it. Our prayer is that your landlord will do just that, surrender his life to Jesus Christ and so truly save it. Salvation is found in Jesus alone, through His grace, and it must be received personally.

Scripture says now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation. God is ready to forgive and to show mercy to all who call upon Him, but His grace should not be received in vain. Each person must respond to His offer while it is still today. Like the apostle Paul, we can turn the deep desire of our hearts for others into prayer, that they might be saved, for God desires that none would perish.

We also pray that God accomplishes His will in this situation. Prayer is not a way to make our own will happen on earth, but to seek that His kingdom come and His will be done. True prayer rests on relationship with God as Father through Jesus Christ, and His ear is open to His children. So we come as His children and ask for His light to overcome darkness.

Let us pray together:

Father, we worship You for Your greatness, Your power, Your love and faithfulness. We thank You that You reign and that Your light drives out darkness. In the name of Jesus Christ we bring this landlord before You. We ask for Your mercy and grace upon him.
